Bethenny Frankel is Leaving The Real Housewives of NY
Aug 31st, 2010
Reality star Bethenny Frankel has revealed that she will definitely not be retuning for a fourth season of The Real Housewives of New York. The new mom to baby Bryn spoke to Us Weekly about her decision to leave the hit show. "Last season was scary and painful. It took all of the joy out of it. My gut's saying not to be part of this cast." she told the magazine.
It sounds like Bethenny, 39, may be referring to her crazy on-air catfights with the likes of Kelly Killoren Bensimon and Jill Zarin. With the show behind her, what's next for Bethenny? Something tells me this won't be the last we see of her as she pretty much lives for the media spotlight.

Heidi Montag is Not Happy With the Plastic Surgery
Aug 26th, 2010
Heidi Montag is unhappy and now wants to have the size of her breasts reduced. When Heidi decided to go under the knife for ten plastic surgery procedures nine months ago, critics were shocked. There was no disputing the fact that Heidi looked completely different from head to toe. Oddly, in interviews, she openly admitted that she secretly wished the doctor had made her chest even bigger. Bigger than the size G implants she purchased for herself?
Now Heidi is changing her tune and telling the folks over at Life & Style that she wants to get rid of the massive implants. "I'm desperate to go back to normal. I'm downgrading and going a little smaller, to a D or a double D," she said in an interview with the magazine.
I wonder what else the troubled reality star will try to 'undo' next. Someone should tell her that not every mistake can be taken back so easily.

Eminem Channels Marlon Brando For VMA Promo
Sep 3rd, 2010
Rapper remakes scene from 1954 movie 'On the Waterfront' for the shoot. By Mawuse Ziegbe
Eminem
Photo: MTV
"I'm ready for my close-up," joked Eminem, who had two plugs rammed up his nose on the set of his MTV Video Music Awards appearance promo. Even though the superstar MC is covered in prosthetic bruises and hobbles away from an enflamed car in the commercial for the VMAs, Eminem kept things light behind the scenes at his shoot. In fact, the Recovery rapper said that he wasn't stressing the details, but was instead there get the job done and maybe horse around a little bit.
"They tell me that it's something for the VMAs, but I've been in my little rat hole. They just let me out to play," Eminem said. "So I'm kind of like that hamster in the ball, when they let him out and he runs around in the ball. I'm in my little ball right now, running around."
In between the running around, the hip-hop megastar, who is up for eight Moonmen, managed to turn in an intense performance in the clip. The commercial opens to the strains of "Not Afraid," with Em limping away from an overturned car right before it bursts into flames with a blast that sends the rapper toppling to the ground. After an onlooker helps him up, a slew of young men in '50s period clothing watch Em stagger along as he gains upon an upright, steely-eyed version of himself. Then, the confident, unharmed Eminem leads the crew of young men toward a city skyline in the distance.
The rapper explained that the visual is based around a scene from a classic 1954 Marlon Brando flick. "It's kind of a take on 'On the Waterfront.' Like, loosely," Em explained. "The car is exploding and I'm hurt."
The promo is infused with the high drama of the chart-topping MC's return to the top of the music game after battling the lows of a debilitating drug addiction. If the power of the visual short is any indication, Em is going to run things as a performer at this year's VMAs.
What are you expecting from Eminem's appearance at the VMAs? Let us know in the comments below!

B.o.B Breaks Through: A VMA Cheat Sheet

After nearly quitting the music business last year, the eclectic MC and songwriter from Atlanta shot to the top of the pop charts.By Jayson Rodriguez
B.o.B
Photo: ABC
B.o.B isn't like most pop stars. He really isn't like most rap stars, either. But the guitar-strumming MC's mix of melodic rhymes and earnest songwriting has him up for a few Moonmen at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, which air live on September 12 at 9 p.m.
Here's how he got to where he is today.
The lanky lyricist grew up on a diet of Michael Jackson and Tina Turner, but when he got older, his tastes widened to include everything from the Beatles to Bjrk.
That range wasn't necessarily evident on his early productions, but his woozy "Cloud 9" proved to be an underground gem that garnered the attention of key music industry folks, including T.I. and Atlantic Records; the Atlanta upstart is signed to that label through Tip's Grand Hustle imprint.
B.o.B had been championed as an heir to OutKast's Andre 3000 after he released a slew of mixtape material in the past few years that earned him a solid reputation within the hip-hop community. "I'll Be In the Sky," "Haterz Everywhere" and "Lonely People" were among the notable numbers from his street projects, which include the DJ Smallz-helmed Cloud 9, Who the F--- Is B.o.B and B.o.B vs Bobby Ray, which was backed by DJ Green Lantern and Don Cannon.
As he sat in an incubation stage, however, B.o.B soon found himself at the center of swirling rumors last year that he was quitting the music biz before his first album could be released.
But that turned out to be a small speed bump on his road to pop stardom. In 2010, the eclectic rapper — who late last year announced he would also go by his birth name, Bobby Ray — found everything finally coming together for him.
His Bruno Mars-assisted "Nothin' on You," with its saccharine-sweet vocals and flirtatious verses, shot to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. His debut album, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, took a similar path, debuting at #1 on Billboard's albums chart.
His single with Paramore's Hayley Williams, "Airplanes," was a top five hit and his collaboration with Rivers Cuomo, "Magic," just entered the top 10. And after opening for Jay-Z and Eminem on Thursday (September 2) night, it seems like B.o.B can do no wrong these days. He earned a total of five VMA nominations: Best Male Video, Best Collaboration, Best Hip-Hop Video, Best Pop Video, and Video of the Year.
We bet B.o.B will tell you himself that it pays to play different.
Do you think B.o.B will take home some hardware on September 12? Let us know in the comments!

Kanye West's 2008 VMA Set Was Born At Obama's Nomination
Sep 3rd, 2010
Genesis of West's memorable performance of 'Love Lockdown' is uncovered on 'VMAs: Revealed' this Saturday.By Mawuse Ziegbe
Kanye West
Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage
Kanye West's most memorable VMA appearance to date is probably that whole Taylor Swift nonsense that went down at the 2009 show. But one thing for which the Louis Vuitton Don can always be counted on is a stunning live television moment — whether he's been invited to the stage or not.
His most triumphant appearance arguably took place at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, when the Chicago MC mounted an innovative rendition of his spankin' new single "Love Lockdown." Kanye ditched the hard-hitting rhymes for heartfelt vocals and closed the show with 20 Taiko drummers pounding out the song's thunderous rhythms. It was a new direction for the star, who bravely risked wiping out his street cred and weathering worldwide fan backlash for his inventive, genre-melding sound.
Like Madonna writhing onstage in a wedding dress, Lady Gaga hanging from the ceiling smeared in fake blood or Eminem leading an army of blond doppelgangers into Radio City Music Hall, Kanye West's 2008 set had all the makings of a signature VMA moment: a tricked-out performance from a major superstar laced with the slightest hint of WTF.
However, executing West's appearance was a mad dash to the VMA finish line, with the show's organizers and the artist careening toward super-firm deadlines in the race to pull off the performance. In the special "The VMAs: Revealed - Presented by New 5 React Gum," premiering on MTV at 11 a.m. Saturday, the whirlwind creation of 2008's "Love Lockdown" set is broken down by the people who made it happen.
The idea for West to wrap up the VMAs with his 808s & Heartbreak single popped up at an unexpected venue: The 2008 Democratic National Convention. As Barack Obama accepted his party's nomination to run for president, VMA executive producer Dave Sirulnick and West met up in Denver to discuss the MC's latest work and MTV's upcoming awards show.
"It was phenomenal because it was this whole new thing that Kanye was doing," Sirulnick says of hearing demos of Yeezy's new music. "You could see how this could play perfectly as a close to the show."
However, once both parties agreed to have 'Ye close out the VMAs, the real madness began. To find out how West went from a meeting in Colorado to belting out "Lockdown" at the 2008 VMAs, catch "The VMAs: Revealed - Presented by New 5 React Gum" on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on September 12. The party starts with MTV News' VMA Pre-Show at 8 p.m., followed by the main event at 9 p.m. ET. Fans can go to VMA.MTV.com (or text VMA to 97979 if they are Verizon subscribers) to vote for Best New Artist from now through September 12.

Chelsea Handler Refuses To Sing Or Dance At VMAs

VMA host Chelsea Handler is good at certain things, like telling cutting jokes, writing hilarious books and making her male staffers get dolled up in clothes from Madonna and Lourdes' Material Girl line.
But the "Chelsea Lately" host knows her limitations.
"I've actually watched a bunch of the VMAs from over the past few years and there was definitely a lot of singing and dancing," she told MTV News' Jim Cantiello about her first time hosting the MTV Video Music Awards, which air on Sunday, September 12 at 9 p.m. ET. "I'm not a dancer and I'm not a singer, and I don't have the kind of ass that should be mooned. I mean it's sweet, it's a sweet ass, but it's little and it's white."
'Going The Distance' Co-Stars Think Romance And Bromance Can Coexist
Sep 3rd, 2010
Charlie Day and Jason Sudeikis share their philosophy on male friendships.By Kara Warner
Jason Sudeikis
Photo: MTV News
As a rule, romantic comedies generally follow a pretty standard formula: Boy meets girl, boy and girl fall in love, boy and girl's relationship is put to the test by brief bit of drama (overprotective potential in-laws, nosy friends, etc.), boy and girl live happily ever after. It's typical and predictable, but also why we love rom-coms!
The latest entrant into the beloved genre is this week's "Going the Distance," starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long as a new couple who try to make their relationship work while living on opposite coasts. The film also features the comedic stylings of Charlie Day ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and Jason Sudeikis ("Saturday Night Live"), who play a pair of buddies doing their best to keep their close friendship alive, while Long's character tries to distance himself from his pals and make more time for his new romance.
When MTV News caught up with the two funnymen at the film's press day, we asked them to compare and contrast the complicated aspects of real-life guy friendship, a.k.a. bromance, and romance — and whether the two can exist at the same time.
"Well, there's a lot less sex in the bromance," Day offered. "We're bromancing each other, but we're not bromancing each other in bed, so that's different."
Sudeikis admitted that sometimes you need to put the bromance on the back burner. "At some point, you have to let your friend go and your romance will trump the bromance," he said. "You have to let the little bird fly out of the nest."
"A romance and a bromance can happen at the same time — they're not mutually exclusive," Day added. "They can, they absolutely can. Sometimes people think that when the romance starts, the bromance ends, but that's not true."
This comment prompted Sudeikis to theorize that it's a bad sign if the guy friends in question have a problem with their friend's new love interest. "If the bromance really has a negative reaction to the romance, it's probably not a healthy romance," he said.
"There's no reason a good romance can't be perfectly bromantical," Day added.
"Yeah," Sudeikis agreed. "Not all squares are rectangles."
"And not all rectangles are shapes," Day said.
There you have it, philosophies on love and bromance, courtesy of Sudeikis and Day.

Detroit hasn't screamed this loud at a baseball park since Kirk Gibson was hitting home runs in the 1984 World Series. Hip-hop history was made as Jay-Z and Eminem co-headlined the Motor City's Comerica Park (home of the D-Town Tigers for the past decade) on Thursday night (September 2), the first of two shows on consecutive nights.
While Jay's high-grossing touring schedule helped him to top this year's Forbes' "Hip-Hop Cash King" list, Eminem took a much-needed sabbatical to deal with a myriad of personal issues. Now beyond his darkest hour, Em had one of his brightest moments ever onstage. Not only did he gift his hometown with a seemingly endless string of hits, he pulled off some major surprises. After D12, 50 Cent and the G-Unit — acts that fans likely expected — came out for performances with Em, Slim Shady pulled off a shocker. Dr. Dre came out, first stunning the people then delighting them with smashes.
Lady Gaga Poses As Lady Liberty On Magazine Cover

Pop star poses alongside Marc Jacobs for the New York issue of V Magazine.By James Dinh
Lady Gaga on the cover of V Magazine
Photo: V Magazine, LLC
As evidenced by her recent well-publicized attendance at a Mets game and her glorious Madison Square Garden show, Lady Gaga has always repped for her hometown of New York City. So it's no surprise that Gaga is paying tribute to the Big Apple by posing as the Statue of Liberty alongside fashion guru Marc Jacobs on the fall cover of V Magazine.
Posing with Jacobs, a shopping cart and an old TV set, Gaga stands with her mouth slightly open in a black lace bra and panties with a gray dress sliding off her body. With her toned abs and her hair shaped into a crown, the pop star is holding a burning torch, mimicking the New York landmark. And while Gaga does her best impression of the neoclassical sculpture, Jacobs remains serious and firm, sitting on top of the television in a traditional black-and-white suit. In another photo, the singer is seen crouched in the carriage as she's pushed around by the fashion designer with her torch held high. Just last year, the singer appeared on the fall issue of the magazine donning Jacobs-designed pieces.
In the issue, which is on sale now, V Magazine highlights some of New York's most profound figures, people they say "are making the city their own way."
Editor Stephen Gan revealed that he chose the pop star because her representative values parallel those of the magazine. "Just as the Statue of Liberty was France's gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York's greatest gift to pop culture and fashion," he said in a statement. "She embodies everything V is about, and is also a beacon of the city's creativity and hope. Exactly one year after her first V cover (the first fashion magazine cover she was on), we decided to do the NEW YORK issue, and she was the first person who came to mind to represent our great city."
Gan declared Gaga "a bonafide genius" and credited her as V Magazine's "muse" of inspiration. "Above all, a New York issue should celebrate people who've done great things. We at V are grateful Gaga came along to put the New back in New York!" he concluded.
But the singer doesn't always leave fashion editors with the best impression. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour spoke about the pop star during her stop at "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" on Wednesday.
"We had Lady Gaga this year," she said of the singer's performance at this year's Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala. "She was communing with God and she was praying in the back, waiting for God to tell her it was all right to actually go onstage." Wintour chuckled before revealing that Gaga left the audience waiting for more than 40 minutes.
To learn more about Lady Gaga's crazy road to fashion icon, watch "VMAs: Revealed Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV.

T.I. And Tiny Allegedly Caught With Ecstasy, Police Say
Sep 3rd, 2010
Tests on pills came back positive for narcotic.By Gil Kaufman

Los Angeles police confirmed on Friday (September 3) that tests on the illicit substance allegedly found during a traffic stop involving rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, have tested positive as a type of the drug Ecstasy.
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Nicole Nishida confirmed that lab tests on the pills found on both T.I., 29, and Cottle, 36, tested positive for Ecstasy, a Schedule 1 narcotic noted for a euphoric high that mixes the effects of hallucinogens and amphetamines. Nishida said only that "several" pills were found by detectives, but that no other drugs were confiscated during the search.
Tip (born Clifford Harris Jr.) and Tiny were arrested after police stopped their Maybach for making an illegal U-turn on Los Angeles'
busy Sunset Boulevard on Wednesday night. After stopping the car, police allegedly smelled marijuana and then searched the vehicle, which resulted in the substance being found.
Nishida said no mention was made by arresting officers of any marijuana confiscated during the search and, despite pictures on TMZ of the Maybach having white Styrofoam cups of the type typically used for sipping "sizzurp" (a narcotic drink popular in the South that contains coediene-laced cough syrup) inside, there was also no mention of that substance in the police report either.
Both were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and then released from jail a short time later on $10,000 bail. Neither is expected back in court for an arraignment before next month.
T.I. is on probation following a seven-month prison stint for a felony gun charge, which is itself a violation of his probation from a previous felony arrest. T.I.'s new probation conditions included supervised release for three years, DNA testing and drug counseling, as well as a ban on owning firearms and an agreement to submit to reasonable searches.
The rapper's lawyers said on Thursday that Tip would be headed back to Atlanta within 24 hours, cautioning that it was too early to speculate on when, or if, he would have to appear before a judge. A spokesperson for the federal prosecutor's office in Atlanta — where T.I. was prosecuted on the gun charge — said they are awaiting word from the probation department to find out what their investigation turned up about the Los Angeles incident.
The probation officer handling T.I.'s case must first gather the facts on the arrest after consulting with Los Angeles County and then make a recommendation to the prosecutor's office and the court as to whether the rapper deserves to be sanctioned for a violation of his probationary terms. A spokesperson for the probation department could not be reached for comment at press time.

Any time Tony Scott and Denzel Washington team up on a film, moviegoers can count on blockbuster-scale action sequences, serious acting and a thrilling plot. Their latest effort, and fourth film together overall, is "Unstoppable," and with "Star Trek" star Chris Pine thrown into the mix, the film has all the makings of a box-office hit when it opens on November 12.
The story, which is loosely based on real events, revolves around seasoned train engineer Frank Barnes (Washington) and newly hired operator Will Colson (Pine). While out doing a training run, they hear a warning of an out-of-control train full of hazardous chemicals careening down the rails on a path toward massive destruction. Barnes and Colson set out on a suicide mission to stop the train before it's too late.
When MTV News caught up with Pine, we talked about the technicalities and dangers of train operation, his out-of-body experience during his first meeting with Scott and Washington, and the inevitable "Speed" comparisons.
MTV: What kind of training did you get with regard to operating actual trains?
Chris Pine: There's a little railroad yard in L.A. that — essentially there are different classes of railroad, and this is, I think, maybe a third-level railroad. So we went to that yard and got a chance to hop on the trains, learn what it was like to be in the cab, and what all the various assorted technical jargon was all about. It was a lot of fun. It was like being a kid.
MTV: What does it feel like to operate the trains? Can you feel the power behind the machines?
Pine: Well, the one thing they keep telling you, and it's so true, is that especially the trains in the yards, they're very quiet, and obviously the trains are thousands and thousands and thousands of pounds, tons of weight. The guys would tell stories about guys who weren't paying attention on the tracks, with their backs turned, and very silently a train would creep up, whether it was working on the yard, or whatever was happening at the time, and would crush someone. And there's no way to stop a train once it's going. If a train's going, a train will not stop on a dime. And pretty much to a T, every single one of the conductors or engineers had stories about hitting someone or maiming someone, and each yard has a therapist in place to deal with that. And more often than not, it's not their fault. People are committing suicide or people are screwed up and accidently left their cars on the tracks. But it can be a pretty grim business.
MTV: Yikes. What was the stunt work like on the film?
Pine: The stunt work was pretty hairy stuff. Again, you're working with actual trains, obviously, so there's no CG, there's nothing fake about it. You know there's trains going really fast, and you have to hang off trains or jump on the train, and thank god we had a wonderful stunt team behind us. And I had a great stunt double. You know, I would try to do everything I could within reason, but once it got really hairy, that's when I stepped back and went to video village, got my seat, got my drink, and watched the action unfold with everybody else.
MTV: What was your most impressive feat, stunt-wise?
Pine: Well, if I were to tell you that, I think I'd give away some of the movie, [but] suffice it to say, most of it's me. If it gets really scary, you can pretty much guarantee it was my wonderful stunt double.
MTV: What was your experience like with Mr. Washington and Mr. Scott?
Pine: Well, I grew up watching their movies. One of the first movies I ever fell in love with was "Top Gun," and I've been watching Denzel since "Glory," and on and on and on down the line. So, to work with two of my idols was just a dream come true, and I remember a point early on in the process when we all met in Tony's office in L.A. It was me and Denzel and Tony and we're kind of shooting the sh-- and talking about life, and seeing if our schedules were going to work out to be able to do this movie. And then afterwards, I kind of had this out-of-body experience thing — "I just had a conversation with two of my idols, one of the best actors of all time, one of the best directors of all time. We were talking about maybe doing a film together if our schedules worked out!" [That was] one of those times when you really remember just how lucky you are and how grateful you are to be able to be in the position.
MTV: And for audiences who know you from "Star Trek," what are they going to get out of this film?
Pine: It's a lot of fun. Like "Star Trek," it has the genetic code of the summer tentpole movie. It's fun. It's action-packed, and it's got some really interesting, complex characters to kind of anchor the whole thing. And Tony always talked about how the movie was like a train. You know, once it gets going, it just does not stop, and Tony doesn't give you much time to rest or settle in your seat before something happens.
MTV: What do you think about the inevitable "Speed" comparisons?
Pine: Well, it's very much like "Speed" in the sense that ... you have two vehicles that are moving, and they're both capable of inflicting large-scale damage, and it's up to two people to stop it who are initially at odds. Obviously, Denzel and I don't fall in love in this one, but there's a lot of love there for sure.

Chris Brown is back on top of the charts. The singer has scored a #1 hit on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop chart with "Deuces" featuring Tyga. The track is from the pair's mixtape, Fan of a Fan, which was released for free on the Internet earlier this year.
"Deuces," produced by and featuring Kevin McCall, marks Brown's first time back on top of a Billboard chart since 2006. Previously, Brown scored big on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart with his debut single "Run It!" and "Say Goodbye."
His last proper effort, Graffiti, spawned the breakout numbers "I Can Transform Ya" and "Crawl," but the album failed to match the commercial success of his previous solo offerings. Brown worked Fan of a Fan like an album, releasing accompanying videos as well.
The Virginia star also is basking in the success of "Takers," the ensemble casted film starring Brown, Idris Elba, Paul Walker and T.I., that is currently resting atop the box office draw.
The embattled star has been working hard to regain the public's support after he assaulted his former girlfriend Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles. Earlier this summer, he earned rave reviews for his Michael Jackson tribute during the 2010 BET Awards. Brown performed the late singer's "Man in the Mirror" and broke down onstage.
Last month Brown visited the Beverly Hills judge overseeing his assault case and was complimented on his progress in probation, which includes community labor work and therapy sessions.

Axwell Says He's 'Hyped' To Play New York's Electric Zoo Fest

Swedish House Mafia star talks smash 'Nothing but Love' and first-ever U.S. festival headlining gig on Saturday.By Akshay Bhansali

When MTV News caught up with Axwell on Tuesday, he was just waking up after a night behind the decks in Ibiza, Spain. Axwell (born Axel Hedfors) had just a few hours earlier been spinning another epic performance with his fellow Swedish House Mafia cohorts — Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello — at their weekly Monday night "Masquerade Motel" party at Pacha. The trio are house-music rock stars, and that likely helps explain why Axwell looked nothing like someone who had just performed into the morning hours.
The beaming Axwell spoke to us about his new hit single, "Nothing but Love." The star DJ/producer is lined up to play on Saturday at the Electric Zoo electronic music festival in New York, his first-ever U.S. festival headlining gig. And just days earlier he premiered the accompanying video for "Nothing," an epic clip that traces the journey of a 21st-century Christ-like character.
"The vocal, it sounds like it's a Jesus kind of a thing," Axwell said. "With the whole 'Whatever you do, turn the other cheek' and 'I got nothing but love for you, whatever you do.' So I was like, 'I really like this idea,' and it's going to be kind of hard to pull off with it not being weird or upsetting. I think the idea is that it's a bit like how we would be if there was a modern Jesus among us."
Swedish House Mafia also recently released "Miami 2 Ibiza," their first single since their smash "One" (which, in one version, fatured Pharrell) dropped earlier this summer. In Axwell's opinion, the new song is the highest-caliber material Swedish House Mafia has made yet.
"When we play this song in our set, it amazes me, the reaction it gets," he said. "Yesterday, we played it and the whole club just transformed into one big mass of people jumping at the same time. No track in our set comes close. We just surrender to that track. We feel crazy when we play it."
Both the instrumental and vocal (featuring bars by British chart-topping rapper Tinie Tempah) versions of the song have leaked online, with the instrumental now officially available on Beatport.com.
Axwell promises fans will hear "Miami 2 Ibiza" during his Electric Zoo set on Randall's Island, an occasion he was eagerly anticipating. "I feel really hyped about it," he said. "It's been such a pleasure to come over to the States and play for you guys because there is so much excitement there. The American crowd, when they want to party, they really party. When they put on their party hat, it's like, 'OK, now it's a dance festival.' They go f---ing crazy, for real! People just go all in."
Axwell is performing at the two-day festival alongside Markus Schulz, ATB, Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki and Dirty South, among others. In the unlikely event that he has some free time, he's already got his eyes on one set in particular.
"I would love to see Wolfgang Gartner out of the guys that are gonna be there," Axwell said. "Because I have never seen him play and I think that production-wise he's really interesting. I think that he's had a massive year."

2010 is turning out to be a major year for Raekwon. After pulling off successful appearances with the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan at this summer's Rock the Bells Tour and jumping on a remix of Justin Bieber's "Runaway Love" with Kanye West, the Chef has been cooking up a lot of buzz. Now, the Wu O.G. is setting his sights on Hollywood. The hip-hop luminary has revealed that he's stepping behind the lens for a new flick.
"I'm working on a movie called 'C.R.E.A.M.' that I co-directed with one of my partners. We teamed up with [Damon] Dash," Raekwon told New York Magazine in an interview published Friday (September 3). "Y'all gonna be hearing more about this movie that we're putting together called 'C.R.E.A.M.' It's called 'Cash Rules Everything Around Me.' It's a lot of things transpiring right now, but I just want to continue to stay in my zone, stay focused and keep working."
The MC didn't divulge too many details about the project, which shares its title with a classic banger from the 1993 Wu LP Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). He did, however, insist that he's going to stay behind the scenes and has no plans to appear onscreen.
"I'm playing the outskirts on this one because I kind of feel like that's where I'm at. You know, I don't know. At this point, I probably won't be in it, but we don't know," Rae said, "I want to more or less capture the scenes from the outside looking in, because I want it to be something that people say is a classic, and they respect the storyline of where we went with it."
Raekwon also announced on Twitter that fans may be getting a taste of the flick very soon. "Believe it or not hopefully this week and nyc we will be shooting a trailer for the movie C.R.E.A.M so lookout for it!" the Wu MC tweeted on Friday.
The Immobilarity lyricist said he's been looking to kick off the project for a minute and believes the time has come to make the film happen.
"This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time, even when we was making [the 2009 release] Cuban Linx II, I was already making it my business to obligate time to that, to putting the script together. It's where it needs to be right now," Rae said. "I'm just trying to be a machine. A roller coaster machine, man."
In addition to the "C.R.E.A.M." movie, Rae has been working on his upcoming effort Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang which he's planning to drop later this year.

Usher Comes Back For His Crown: A VMA Cheat Sheet

The 'OMG' singer overcame personal drama and proved his staying power on the charts over the past year.By Mawuse Ziegbe

Usher has reigned as Pop & B royalty since he hit the scene as a teen crooner in the '90s. Back when his 16-year-old protg, Justin Bieber, was still a toddler, the ATL singer was making the ladies faint with hits like "You Make Me Wanna" and "Nice & Slow." But his early success was just a prelude to the music-world domination he's achieved with club bangers and deeply personal slow jams in the years since.
Usher's divorce from Tameka Foster was the latest personal development to fueled his 2010 chart-topping album Raymond v. Raymond. Now the singer is set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards, and his smash "OMG" will battle it out for a Moonman in three categories: Best Male Video, Best Dance Video and Best Choreography. Here's a look at how the singer's recent success has steered him toward VMA accolades:
Following the release of the divorce-themed "Papers," his more upbeat video "Hey Daddy (Daddy's Home)" premiered in January 2010. The clip followed the romantic superstar as he tried to juggle the demands of his professional and personal life.
In March, Usher talked to MTV News about incorporating that balance into Raymond Vs. Raymond. "I think this is the one time where I'm able to put it all in, emotionally and the good times — super-freaky and then also super-emotional."
So, it wasn't a big surprise that when Raymond Vs. Raymond finally landed on shelves after several delays, it landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 with over 300,000 scans during its first week.
He went from romantic to racy, busting out his signature, fluid, hip-swiveling moves in the video for "Lil Freak," featuring Nicki Minaj. The star didn't hold back in the visuals or the lyrics, which both detail a freaky rendezvous with some very game ladies. Usher revealed that this track, like many of his other hits, was inspired by real-life experiences.
The club anthem "OMG" featured Black Eyed Peas frontman Will.I.Am and revealed the R&B kingpin's more club-friendly side. The accompanying video showcased Usher's easy swagger and ever-sharp dance skills.
Raymond was such a hit that in August the singer released Versus, an extension of the smash album featuring songs like the Jay-Z collabo "Hot Tottie."
Usher, who has a history of tearing up the VMA stage, will return to the main event this year. He recently reminded his fans that live television paired with his onstage wizardry can result in some seriously unforgettable moments. "You never know what's gonna happen on an MTV VMA stage," he said. "I look forward to making it a night to remember."
The star has also made one of the most savvy moves in recent pop music history by signing teen phenom Bieber, who has gone on to induce global tween hysteria and set YouTube records.

'Daily Show' Star Aasif Mandvi On 'Today's Special'

'When I was writing the script, I went and hung out in Rocco DiSpirito's kitchen,' Mandvi says of his upcoming movie.By Eric Ditzian

Aasif Mandvi has a big appetite. A conversation with him will touch on curries and tandoors, the best places to get Indian dishes in New York and London, and the connections between Indian food and family life.
It comes as a surprise, then, that the "Daily Show With Jon Stewart" correspondent actually shed pounds while filming "Today's Special," an upcoming comedy in which he stars as a highly trained Manhattan chef forced to take over his family's Indian joint in Queens.
"That's not because I wasn't eating!" he laughed during a recent conversation with MTV News. "I was eating like a crazy person. But we were sweating our asses off. Those kitchens are incredibly hot. There were flames. You stand there for 12 hours a day, and the first week we were only shooting in the kitchen. It was like Bikram yoga class."
Mandvi did quite a lot of sweating over the project before he stepped into that kitchen too. The film is based on a one-man, off-Broadway play he staged in 1998. It was a six-character drama inspired by his family members and first brought to life in his standup routine. Years later, he returned to the play with Jonathan Bines, a writer for "Jimmy Kimmel Live," and together they sculpted the raw material into the screenplay that became "Today's Special." It's getting a North American release on October 8.
We've seen Mandvi a lot on camera, from hilarious work opposite Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show" to his supporting comedic roles in films like "Ghost Town," to more dramatic work in "The Last Airbender" and the CBS series "Jericho." But until "Today's Special," Mandvi has never been able to show off his range as an actor. The film allows him to veer from the broadly comic to the dramatically energized to the tentatively romantic.
For the portrait of his chef, named Samir, Mandvi and Bines pulled from a wide spectrum of celebrity cooks. "He's an amalgam of different chefs," Mandvi said. "When I was writing the script, I went and hung out in Rocco DiSpirito's kitchen. He's got some Emeril Lagasse in him and some Gordon Ramsay in him. Samir isn't a celebrity chef, though. That's part of his problem, I suppose, because he'd probably like to be."
From the saucy Jessica Alba in "Little Fockers" to James Franco's grueling journey in "127 Hours," the MTV Movies team is delving into the hottest flicks of fall 2010. Check back daily for exclusive clips, photos and interviews with the films' biggest stars.
Jay-Z, Eminem Stadium Show A Victory For Hip-Hop, Critics Say

'What [Detroit] got was an evening that may well go down as a milestone for hip-hop,' Brian McCollum wrote in USA Today.By Paul Cantor

It's one thing to produce a legendary concert, it's another for it to actually go down without a hitch. Jay-Z and Eminem set the bar pretty high for themselves back in May when they announced they'd be performing two nights of stadium shows in each of their respective hometowns. That's literally months of anticipation, and anything could have gone wrong during that time.
But according to early reports, last night's show at Detroit's Comerica Park was nothing short of historical.
"What [Detroit] got was an evening that may well go down as a milestone for hip-hop," Brian McCollum wrote in USA Today. "Rock 'n' roll has its enduring concert superstars, its Springsteens and Stones. But for hip-hop — whose live legacy has been comprised mostly of flash-and-burn young acts and retro-circuit oldies — Thursday's confident, high-quality production represented something unique. It was loud, resounding evidence that hip-hop can do the larger-than-life thing, too."
Aside from the evening being momentous for hip-hop culture, it was also a return to form for one of Detroit's native sons. "Eminem set out to confront his past demons, put them to rest and claim a victorious and potent present," Gary Graff wrote at Billboard.com. "[H]e largely did during an exhaustive, guest-filled 100-minute performance at Detroit's Comerica Park that spanned his entire recording career with full or partial performances of 33 songs."
At Spin.com, Chris Handyside wrote, "Both men stepped up huge with a one-two punch of sets that over four hours encapsulated the hip-hop flavors of their cities and pop music in general. For his part, Jay was at ease delivering a catalog of career-spanning crowd-pleasers from 'The Dynasty' to 'Hard Knock Life' to a majestic 'Empire State of Mind' ... Jay is, simply, a rock star."
But according to Handyside, for all the spectacle Jay's show had, it was merely an alley-oop for Em to slam-dunk the night away. "This was Eminem's night, after all was said and done," he said.
At the MTV Newsroom blog, Kyle Anderson compared the night's festivities, complete with its revolving circus of guest performers — Dr. Dre, D12, 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Drake, Young Jeezy and Memphis Bleek — to the Band's 1976 retirement concert, "The Last Waltz."
"[T]he cameos were piling up like the junker cars that lined Em's set," Adam Graham wrote in The Detroit News. "Drake joined him for 'Forever,' returning a favor for when Em appeared at the Toronto rapper's hometown performance earlier this summer; 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks came on for mini-set of 50 Cent songs, including 'Patiently Waiting' and 'In Da Club'; and Dr. Dre appeared — wearing a Proof shirt, no less — and did a small set of songs with Em, including 'Nuthin' but a G Thang' and 'Still D.R.E.' Em got the crowd to chant for Dre's long-delayed Detox LP as Dre left the stage, and the reclusive star promised, 'I'm comin'!' "
But Graham also wrote that Em's performance dragged a bit during a D12 mini-set. He also noted that Jay-Z has played a lot more shows in the past few years, and hints that as a result, Jay's show seemed a bit more refined. "Unlike Eminem," he wrote, [Jay-Z] didn't seem to be relying on pre-recorded tracks to bolster his vocals."
Could be much ado about nothing, though, as Handyside felt differently. "Where Jay put on a full-on polished show," he wrote, "Em hosted a loose cannon revue and seemed to enjoy every minute of it. He's made clear that he's through with the 'game' element of hip-hop. And Thursday he let it be known what that looked like."

'Going The Distance': The Reviews Are In!
Sep 3rd, 2010
'E.T.'s girlfriend and the Mac Guy ooze a laid-back, goofy charm through their pore-less skin,' The Washington Post's Michael O'Sullivan writes.By Eric Ditzian
Drew Barrymore in "Going the Distance"
Photo: Warner Bros.
I'll go ahead and say it: I really liked "Going the Distance." Frankly, I'm surprised more early viewers didn't, as the Drew Barrymore comedy is currently at a meager 49 percent freshness at the Rotten Tomatoes review aggregator.
What else do we want in our romantic comedies, people? I'll surely sound like a PR flack for saying this, but "Going the Distance" has something for everyone. It's got the aw-shucks love story, realistically drawn central characters, some fabulously raunchy supporting players in Charlie Day ("It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia") and Jason Sudeikis ("Saturday Night Live"), a plot that really does manage to avoid rom-com clichs, and it's pretty darn funny.
I walked into the screening room with low expectations and walked out giggling. But clearly I'm in the minority. Without a big name co-star beside her, Barrymore's films tend to open small, and "Going the Distance" will likely be no different, grossing in the $12 million-to-$15 million range. The movie deserves more love. Here's what the critics are saying.
The Story
"The movie focuses on Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long). She is a journalism grad student wrapping up a summer internship at a New York newspaper; he works for a record company based in the city. ... Erin and Garrett meet over a vintage video game, get stoned, have sex and become a couple. But once her internship ends, she heads back to California and the two struggle to make a long-distance relationship work. Texting goes only so far; what about physical contact? Temptations are tossed in, in the form of flirty, understanding co-workers of the opposite sex." — Randy Cordova, The Arizona Republic
The Stars
"Drew Barrymore and Justin Long make one cute couple. Whether or not the actors' on-again-off-again real-life romance helped their performances as lovers frustrated by geography — he's in Manhattan, she's in San Francisco — it's clear they have chemistry. E.T.'s girlfriend and the Mac Guy ooze a laid-back, goofy charm through their pore-less skin. They're a modern-day Hepburn and Grant." — Michael O'Sullivan, The Washington Post
The Direction
"Nanette Burstein, whose previous films have been well-regarded documentaries ('American Teen,' 'The Kid Stays in the Picture'), doesn't direct with the surest hand — at times, her camera performs distracting tricks unrelated to the material. But she knows how to let things happen between actors. Unlike the majority of wisecracking but dead-eyed rom-com couples, Barrymore and Long seem to take real joy in each other's company. I'll take that as an excuse to cling to the hope that romantic comedy, that poor, maligned, once-glorious filmic genre, may someday rise again." — Dana Stevens, Slate
The Haters
"[T]his uneven movie is more a compilation of contemporary images and concerns peppered with derivative raucous scenarios, la Judd Apatow movies, than an involving romantic comedy. There are the formulaic montages — lots of scenes of Barrymore and Long making out all over Manhattan — and predictable moments like getting high amid giggles and prattling on about their favorite movies. When Long goes to the tanning booth, it's hard to keep from groaning, given how many rom-coms feel the need to insert a tanning casualty scene. Long, in goofy shower cap, gamely manages to make this sequence funnier than previous on-screen tanning debacles. In his first romantic lead, Long gets the most laughs, his pleasantly offhand and quick wit coming off in an almost improvisational style. He and Barrymore are both convincing as best friends who fall in love. They needed a better playing field." — Claudia Puig, USA Today
The Final Word
"First-time writer Geoff LaTulippe could have written Erin as nothing but a male fantasy of the 'cool' girlfriend, but guided by his smart script, directed by Nanette Burstein and played by the timelessly appealing Barrymore, Erin turns into a real, vulnerable, relatable person. The same goes for Long as Garrett, and the rest of the movie for that matter — 'Going the Distance' is by no means perfect, but it's light years beyond the average rom-com, bracingly honest and genuinely funny about the ups and downs of relationships. Barrymore and Long, once a real-life couple and now who-knows-what, have a real chemistry that complements their well-written, realistic characters, and even when the movie falls apart around them in the third act, we root for these two crazy kids and their shot at romance. They elevate the story beyond its more flawed moments, but really, 'Going the Distance' is pretty special all on its own." — Katey Rich, Cinema Blend

Jack Black Calls 'Gulliver's Travels' A 'Powerful Gem'
Sep 3rd, 2010
In a long interview with MTV News, star talks about getting larger than life for the adaptation of Jonathan Swift's classic.By Josh Horowitz
Jack Black in "Gulliver's Travels"
Photo: 20th Century Fox
If there is one role Jack Black seems perfectly suited for, it is that of Jonathan Swift's beloved Lemuel Gulliver from "Gulliver's Travels."
The classic tale has been retold by plenty of television shows and films. But this version, which arrives in theaters December 22, stars Black, Amanda Peet, Emily Blunt and Jason Segel — and, according to Peet, it showcases a few song and dance moments by Black.
When MTV News caught up with Black recently, we had a hard time keeping him on topic (chocolate-covered Gulliver candy bars, anyone?). But what we did learn is that the flick is going to be "good times" and that the 3-D is 90 percent awesome.
MTV: What can I expect from 'Gulliver's travels'?
Jack Black: It's a powerful gem. It's the old classic tale faithfully retold! We've taken some liberties. We've updated it; we've modernized with a pinch of spice as well.
MTV: I feel that you are the "King Kong" in this scenario.
Black: Exactly! Now I get to be the beast. But I'm a sweet beast; I don't rip the heads off innocent bystanders. We might actually add that to the title ... "Gulliver's Travels: The Sweet Beast." Would you see that?
MTV: That sounds like a date night movie to me!
Black: That could also work in with a merchandise tie-in, like a candy bar that's called Beasts. And shaped like me — you can eat me!
MTV: Would you want to eat yourself?
Black: Well, I eat myself. I chew my fingernails.
MTV: Right. So why not eat yourself covered in chocolate.
Black: Man, if I could eat myself I would!
MTV: So did you read the original Jonathan Swift book, or no?
Black: Of course! Are you kidding me? And let me tell you something, if I hadn't, I would have never have sent it to you. No, I hadn't, actually, when I was first offered the project. But I quickly read it and was blown away by it. One of the great masterworks of fantasy and fiction.
MTV: Like myself, you're not the tallest guy on the planet. Is it refreshing for you to be the big guy?
Black: Totally. This is gonna really appeal to all of those guys out there who have a bit of a Napoleonic complex.
MTV: Right.
Black: How tall are you?
MTV: I'm about 5'8".
Black: You're 5'8"? OK, come on, you're with me, baby. This movie is for you and me!
MTV: That's what I'm saying. I'm excited! So how is the effect stuff? Are you by yourself, or are you doing scenes with Jason and Emily and everybody?
Black: Sometimes, yeah, sometimes I was. Sometimes you're just remembering what we did on the other side of it. I was there for all their little stuff, but when they turned the cameras on me six months later, most of the people were gone and I was just acting to a tennis ball.
MTV: Is Emily a love interest for you? Because that would present a physical problem.
Black: No. She and Jason Segel have a bit of heat. Horatio is like my best buddy in Lilliputia, in the land of tiny people. Horatio, that's Jason Segel. And he's too nervous to ask her out, so I teach him the ways of the Casanova, and I help him to woo her.
MTV: Are they an advanced people, or a backward society?
Black: No, it's an alternate universe, where it's kind of like 18th-century architecture, but with super-skillful builders so they have a lot of technology but not. It's like steampunk. It's like if computer technology had been invented in Egyptian times! It's both! It's future and past at the same time.
MTV: How do you feel about looking at yourself in 3-D?
Black: The only people who have seen themselves in 3-D are people who have been in 3-D movies, because all you can do is look at [yourself] in a mirror reflection. Your hand's in 3-D. You can see the corners of your nose in 3-D, kind of. You can see your lips and your tongue if you stick it out really far. But besides that, you don't see your face in 3-D.
MTV: What's it like?
Black: It's a trip! Didn't know how handsome I was until I saw myself in 3-D!
MTV: Right. How would you characterize this guy?
Black: Let me just say, though, before we go any further, I noticed a little something in your voice when you talked about the conversion into 3-D, how do I feel about that? I just wanna say, most of this movie is CGI-generated images, you know what I mean? Like every shot has computer generated animation? To make the giant and tiny mix together you need to have tons of that stuff in there. And those things can be true 3-D, there's not really a conversion there. It's really just ... like an animated film isn't shot in 3-D, but it's converted, because they do it in post, and it's real true 3-D, so most of the movie will be real and true 3-D. It's terrifying!
MTV: Are you a 3-D snob? Do you like 3-D?
Black: Yes I am a 3-D snob, and I just want to clarify: Only 10 percent of this movie will be lame 3-D. The other 90 percent will be the best 3-D that money can buy!
MTV: Which will overcompensate for the 10 percent?
Black: That's right.
MTV: What do I need to know about your character in this movie?
Black: Gulliver works at a newspaper in New York City, in the mailing room. He's a small potato, he's a small fry and he's very insecure. And he's a small man in a big man's world. He's got big dreams of becoming a big travel writer someday but he's too insecure to make the move. And he's also in love with the travel editor, the gorgeous Amanda Peet. He's too terrified of rejection to make the move. And an opportunity comes up to do a story on the Bermuda Triangle, to prove that it's bogus? That there are no, you know, supernatural forces in the Bermuda Triangle, that take people away to a different dimension. You know the legend to the Bermuda Triangle, right?
MTV: Of course. Everyone knows you don't mess with the Bermuda Triangle.
Black: Well, yeah. Gulliver goes headlong into it just to impress everybody back at the newspaper and hopefully get a date with that hot, hot gorgeous love of his life. Only problem is? The Bermuda Triangle is real, man! And it sucks him in and spits him out in Lilliputia, a land of tiny, tiny little creatures and people. And it's a bummer at first when he gets there, because they enslave him. And it turns out that he rescues the whole country from their enemies. He's a giant so he can save them. And all of a sudden he's the big shot that he always wanted to be. It's a wish fulfillment movie. You pickin' up what I'm layin' down?
MTV: I got it, man.
Black: I guess what I'm saying is, it's good times.

Insane Clown Posse Talk Tila Tequila, Method Man Incidents At The Gathering
Sep 3rd, 2010
'We've got nothing but love for Method Man and Redman,' Violent J tells MTV News.By Kyle Anderson
Insane Clown Posse's Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope
Photo: MTV News
Back at the beginning of August, one of the biggest music festivals of the year took place over a long weekend in Illinois. No, not Lollapalooza — the 11th annual Gathering of the Juggalos, the four-day extravaganza curated by and starring the Insane Clown Posse.
The festival has grown in both size and stature over the past few years, in part because of the online success of trailers that tout the festival and in part because of its increasingly eclectic lineups.
But this year, the Gathering picked up some attention for more negative reasons. A good portion of the mainstream media coverage of the festival reported on the injuries suffered by reality star and sometimes rapper Tila Tequila, who was pelted with debris during her performance. She suffered a number of injuries and threatened to sue ICP, though according to Shaggy 2 Dope and Violent J, nothing of that sort has happened.
The pair regret what happened to Tequila and are still trying to figure out her motivation. "The only reason she got hurt was that she stayed up on stage. It was obvious they didn't want her there, so why did she stay up there?" ICP member Violent J told MTV News.
"It was a shame, because all she had to do was get off the stage," he continued. "Nobody said, 'You have to get on there and stay up there to get paid.' The way I understand it, they paid her before she got up there and they said, 'There's a rumor you're not wanted here, and you're free to take off if you like.' She went up there and stayed up there anyway."
Legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper Method Man also suffered a facial laceration after getting hit with flying debris during his performance with partner Redman. That bothered the men of ICP, because they feel it misrepresented the tenor of their fans. "What happened to Method Man — that shouldn't even be discussed, because that was one a--hole," Violent J said. "One d---head threw something, and by chance, it hit [Method Man] in the face. But he wasn't speaking for Juggalos or for ICP or the Gathering. And they weren't getting bombed up there — it was one a--hole."
"That kid shouldn't have thrown something and should have played the lottery instead," added Shaggy 2 Dope. "Same chances."
But while ICP aren't sure what their status is with Tequila, their relationship with Meth is copacetic. "We've got nothing but love for Method Man and Redman, and we've talked to them since then. We talked to them that night and we talked to him just the other day," J told MTV News. "And if we had caught the kid who threw that, he'd a got it."

'Machete': The Reviews Are In!
Sep 3rd, 2010
Most critics give high marks to Robert Rodriguez's mix of exaggerated violence and political satire.By Eric Ditzian
Danny Trejo in "Machete"
Photo: 20th Century Fox
"Machete" is everything "The Expendables" could have been but isn't: vicious, witty, funny, ridiculous, engrossing.
The sight of Sly Stallone cavorting with Dolph Lundgren and Jet Li in "Expendables" wears off pretty quickly, and what you're left with is dull dialogue, explosions-by-numbers action sequences and characters that you never get to know enough to actually care about. "Machete," by contrast, springs from the same creative well as "Expendables" — wacky and hyper-violent and fanboy-friendly — but there the similarities end. As nutty as "Machete" is, it's actually smart, with snappy dialogue, clever kills and a story line crackling with social commentary about the heated immigration debate in North America.
Why, then, did "Expendables" open to $34.8 million in ticket sales, while "Machete" won't even cross the $20 million mark over this Labor Day weekend? Credit Stallone and his '80s action pals. All we can say is that "Machete" delivers one of the most purely fun movie experiences of the summer. And most of the critics agree. Here's what they're saying about the film, which should hold the #1 box-office spot after the weekend.
The Story
"Three years after his wife and daughter were murdered by the druglord Torrez (Steven Seagal), the deadly Mexican Federale known as Machete (Danny Trejo) is working as a day laborer when he's hired to assassinate the racist Texas Senator McLaughlin (Robert De Niro) in a plot to take down the network of illegal immigrants by the mysterious Sh. With the help of an immigration agent (Jessica Alba), a cook named Luz (Michelle Rodriguez), his preacher friend Padre (Cheech Marin) and a socialite named April (Lindsay Lohan), Machete must get to the bottom of the Senator's plan to put up a fence separating the United States and Mexico." — Edward Douglas, ComingSoon.Net
Machete Himself
"Danny Trejo plays the long-haired, craggy-faced titular Machete with a combination of swift ferocity and baleful kindliness. And the ladies love it. ... Trejo invests his character with an engaging blend of swagger, gravity and terse humor. When Alba's INS agent instructs him to contact her, he snarls, 'Machete don't text.' It's an instant catchphrase." — Claudia Puig, USA Today
The Supporting Players
"Other bits that get a giggle are the casting of action-icon Steven Seagal as a Mexican drug lord and Robert De Niro as a murderously xenophobic U.S. senator whose abortive assassination Machete is framed for, setting the bloody, ridiculous plot in motion. You read that right. The Academy Award winner — De Niro, not Seagal — tears into the part of Texas Sen. John McLaughlin with all the relish and finesse of a starving man given a burrito. He has great, messy fun playing a corrupt politician whose aide (Jeff Fahey) arranges for him to be shot at in order to stir up anti-Mexican sentiment, and get him reelected. So, for that matter, does Cheech Marin as a foul-mouthed, gun-toting priest. He's Machete's brother. What did you expect? But just wait until you see Lindsay Lohan. Playing a campier, trampier version of herself — or at least her tabloid image — she at one point gets to dress up as a nun and shoot people. Don't ask. It's complicated (not to mention fairly random). For much of the rest of her 'performance,' she's naked." — Michael O'Sullivan, The Washington Post
The Dissenters
"An aggressively overstated mashup of testosterone-fueled melodrama, comically exaggerated violence and babe-o-licious action femmes, 'Machete' marks yet another attempt by multihyphenate Robert Rodriguez to simultaneously revive and burlesque the excesses of '70s exploitation pics. Heralded three years ago with a fake trailer in 'Grindhouse,' then developed into a standalone feature, this slam-bang B-movie pastiche is wildly uneven as it doggedly strives (sometimes with obvious strain) to sustain a free-wheeling, anything-goes air of exuberant junkiness." — Joe Leydon, Variety
The Final Word
"[R]est assured that the political satire and commentary merely provide backdrop for flying bullets, swinging blades, spurting arteries, naked babes and tough-guy one-liners ("Machete don't text" is tattoo-worthy). The film takes absolutely wild-eyed delight in viscera, gore and grotesquerie (to wit, one poor fellow's intestine is used as an escape rope, while another man is quite explicitly crucified). ... You can't always count on Rodriguez to get the balance of lunacy, competence and coherence right. But here he more or less gives you exactly what you were looking for: 100 or so minutes as bloody, excessive and ridiculous as those initial 150 or so seconds." — Shawn Levy, The Oregonian

Remember Caviar? This Will Make You Wish You Didn’t.
Sep 2nd, 2010
Are you eating? If so, stop reading this or move on. In fact, don’t read this if you plan on consuming food in the next month or so. You’ll inevitably think back to the day that you read this post and your lunch will become your apparel. You’ve been warned (but I’ll warn you again, because there are some things you cannot unthink and the content of this post is one of those things).
Typically, we avoid discussing the forays into the world of porn by our fine VH1 on-air talent. We wish them everyone the best of luck, and a rash-free existence, but really, it’s none of our business. Like, literally, it’s none of our busine$$. We were content to let For the Love of Ray J Season 1’s Caviar to her on-screen penis-indulging in peace…until we read an account of her breaking a guy’s 11-inch thang thang on the set of a recent porn shoot. Seriously — adult performer Prince Yahshua reports, “In layman’s terms I broke my d***.” The terms get much more graphic below. I don’t think you want to read this, except, in my heart (and non-broken penis), I know you really do…
The 40-year-old porn actor’s harrowing tale (as told to porn-news site XBIZ) begins with Bethany Benz (Caviar’s porn name) on top of him. We’ll spare you the positional details, but it’s suffice to say that it wasn’t working out. Sayeth Prince Yahshua:
“Ten seconds into it, her rhythm wasn’t matching with my rhythm. As I put my head to the side to talk to her, the next thing you heard was…[crunch].
“She jumped off and I guess it’s the equivalent of going to your backyard, you know how you turn on your garden hose and it sprays out? That’s exactly what happened out of my d***. It was like five to six people got massacred in the room, not killed, massacred.
“I lost a pint and a half of blood. The reason why I didn’t lose consciousness is because I was shocked and I kept on biting my lower lip so I wouldn’t fade out.”
Are you throwing up yet? Yahshua underwent a three-hour surgery (in an unlikely turn, his doctor turned out to be a “fan”), because as Yahshua says, “my pee hole was ripped and the aligning wall muscle to my d*** was torn.” All’s well that ends with a continuing career in pornography, as Yahshua reports that he’ll be back on set in no time. “Everything aligned itself back up right. It will be a two-month recovery,” he says. “So I’m very, very happy right now. Because definitely as soon as I got to the hospital that day they were like, ‘Whoa, let us let you know now that you may never do porn again if we don’t fix this right.’” What a relief. There’s no response from Caviar in the XBIZ story. We’ll take a wild guess and say that it began with, “Oooh! Sorry!” [XBIZ via Bourgy]

The Celebreality Interview - Tara
Sep 1st, 2010
“I think people thought I was either really smart or they thought I was a trash bag,” Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch’s Tara tells us regarding her love-it-or-hate-it personality. In the interview below, the show’s class clown talks about her refusal to take reality TV seriously, the eyebrow-raising comments about race she made on the show and why she’s looking into a “slutty puppet master” Halloween costume…
You know what I find funny? The idea that reality TV is something to be taken very seriously. What a concept.
Yeah, I don’t know. I was there just to have fun, mainly, and I did. If people thought I was making fun of them in the process, that’s unfortunate, but what’s done is done, so whatever.
Do you feel like the center or the star of the show?
Uh, if I imagine the show without me, it would probably be more boring. I think that a lot of the funny moments were based around me.
It’s interesting that in talking to other women on the show who might even resent you, most of them at least concede that you were good TV.
I think they were few and far between, but I guess there was a couple. I don’t know, I wasn’t amused by any of them.
Really? You seemed to be having a good time. You seemed to make the most of your material.
There were parts that I totally enjoyed, and there were parts where it was like, “This is not what I signed up for.” I’m a people-watcher who then analyzes things in my head. I would watch what was going on when the other girls were totally oblivious. I would make fun of things that nobody else noticed. A lot of the Twitter people have been writing that I was so fake and that I’m such an airhead and a dumb blonde. I think there’s no gray with my personality and there’s never been. My friends growing up said about the show, “Oh, people will love you or they’ll hate you, but that’s how it’s been your whole life.” I think people thought I was either really smart or they thought I was a trash bag. I think I have a brain. I think you have to be intelligent to be quick-witted.
Many of the girls contended that you were miserable from the start – that you repeatedly said you hated the show, and not even sarcastically. Was that true?
The show wasn’t what I thought it was going to be, and I knew as early as when we were on the field. It was overwhelming. I was overwhelmed by the cameras and the lack of privacy and the fact that there was never a minute if you just needed a break. That doesn’t exist in reality TV, and I wasn’t aware of that. It wasn’t that I was miserable, it was that I was overwhelmed. And then there was being with so many girls with all their different personalities. I’m very picky about my friends – I’ve had the same friends for 15 years. I don’t like girls that don’t understand my personality or who don’t have personalities.
What about Chad? Did you ever develop feelings for him?
I thought Chad was really, genuinely a nice guy. I think the idea of a reality show sounded so fun to him, but once he got there, he was a little disinterested. The girls would be surrounding him, and I’d be standing off to the side, watching him fall asleep. He would be sleeping and the girls would be petting him. All I could think was, “Oh my god, this guy is so bored.” I don’t think I’m the only one who felt that. I just don’t think this was what he was looking for. I mean, I feel like everyone’s there more for the experience and the exposure than for the chocolate.
Is that what it came down to for you: experience and exposure?
I’d seen Chad on television. I don’t live in a box. I’m a sports fan. He’s very charismatic. He’s very playful and charming. I was going for the experience and if anything were to come out of it other than that, it would have been a bonus. I got the opportunity to do things that other girls dream about. It’s some girls’ dream to be in a mansion and on a private plane. Not to sound like a brat, but I’ve done all that. So anything else was a bonus. It was cool to see the production side of things. It was cool that a lot of fuss was made over us girls – people just making sure we were happy and had everything. That was interesting.
So then was there any surprise when you shared a bath with him that turned to be less than sexy?
People think, “Oh, that’s so funny that you said 129 degrees.” There was a thermometer in the tub. It was 129 degrees! I think they filled it thinking it was going to take us longer to get there than it did, so when we sat down it was still sweltering. It was a cauldron of lava. It’s hard to be romantic when you’re thinking to yourself, “Am I taking my last breath on earth? Am I dying of a heat stroke?”
But at that point you were still open to Chad? You felt like there was some chemistry there?
Yeah, I didn’t shut down to the idea of liking Chad ever. I’m not the witch everyone thinks I am. Deep down in there, there’s a heart. In the tub, I was super hot and that was the only thing on my mind. I couldn’t stop thinking about my sweat mustache and that I was sweating all my makeup off.
Even though it was your undoing, I admired you for sticking to your guns and not changing your personality when it was requested that you get serious.
I couldn’t be. I felt like ultimately I came off as the person who was having the most fun. I was the one who was laughing and making jokes 24/7. I feel like I already said it best: no love lost, no love found. I could only be myself. And look what happened to Jasmine: she was pretty abrasive in the beginning, and Chad used that against her in the end. I feel like when I’m being myself, I’m funny. Over everything else, I wanted to come off as funny and carefree and that’s exactly how I am.
Any regrets on clapping — or appearing to do so — about Lisa’s grandfather’s cancer?
I never wish anything bad upon anyone. From the jump, Lisa came off as aggressive and negative toward everyone. I don’t know if her idea was to have everybody hate her, but I don’t get along with mean girls. I’m not mean, I’m sarcastic. Me and Ericka wish the best for Lisa and everyone in her family, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy to see her go.
What did you think about the “puppet master” allegation: that you were controlling Ericka and Laurice?
It’s so funny. I want to be a puppet master for Halloween. I’ve been thinking, “How would I make a slutty puppet master outfit?” I just really got along with those girls. They laughed at my jokes, and I was really sad when they left, like, “Boo, this isn’t going to be fun anymore.”
Did you catch any heat for the arguably racial things that you said throughout your time on the show?
I wouldn’t say “heat” is the right word but there’s a lot of people on Twitter whose whole lives are reality television watch it and after anything I say, it’s like, “Oh this girl said this…!” I wouldn’t have gone on the show if I was racist, first of all. I am attracted to black guys. That’s part of the reason why I went on the show. Otherwise, I am totally colorblind. I don’t have a racial bone in my body. I joke, I say things like, “I’m Irish, I’m a drunk,” but I don’t seriously see colors. I feel bad for anybody who’s bored enough to over-think things and call me a racist.
Your comments were at least bold: when Chad asked you what your mom would think about you dating a black guy, your immediate response was, “Is he robbing the place?” I understand that’s more a joke about racism than race, but it’s still bold given people’s sensitivity.
I am not easily offended, clearly, but I also had felt Chad out. I knew he wouldn’t be mad about that and it was never an issue. He never was like, “Can you not?” or, “You’re crazy.” In that clip, who was laughing just as hard as me? Him with his big red tongue. He’s hysterically laughing. There was never a moment I don’t think where Chad wasn’t entertained by me. So, at the end of the day was Chad taking it really seriously? We’ll never know. But were there definitely some good laughs between us? Absolutely.
Does that piss you off though? A big deal was made about you not taking this seriously, when you suspect that Chad wasn’t either?
At the end of the day, it’s his show and we’re just part of it. He can act however he wants. I’m not an idiot going into a VH1 show and thinking, “Oh my god, I’m gonna marry this guy!” I know what the f*** is up, basically. I don’t know how seriously he took it. I’m not in Chad’s brain. I think that he probably just had a lot going on while filming, but you know, that’s his life. I wasn’t there to figure him out. I don’t know what I was there for. Ha ha, I’m still working on that answer.
I’m sure you saw the Los Angeles Times write-up about you. That must have been flattering.
When I saw the L.A. Times write-up, I’d been having a rough day. I read a blog about me where people said some really rotten things. And you know then to read something like that in the L.A. Times, I felt super vindicated. The people that you really want to appreciate your humor are the critics, not the idiots, or the little people who are judging you because they’re mean. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel super f***ing vindicated and I posted that on my Facebook like ten times, like “Read this.”
Jon Caramanica really got you. You know who else did? You: you laughed at yourself when Chad played back your counseling session.
Oh my god, I was so amused. Everyone else was looking at me horrified. I just feel like at the end of the day, if you’re not laughing, what’s the point? My friends that were watching laughed, my viewers laughed. It wasn’t serious. I feel like ultimately I won. I really do. I didn’t act like a jerk. I didn’t humiliate myself. I mean, I probably did a couple things here and there like, “Oh man, shouldn’t have said that.” But you know ultimately I feel like people have been entertained by me and I really do feel like I’ve won.
Speaking of that elimination, do you have any thoughts on your highly controversial tuxedo dress?
Everyone else was really dressed up. It was like a pretty serious elimination ’cause we thought two girls were being sent home and the Top 2 would be picked from there. All the girls were all dressed up in their little hoochie dresses and I just felt like, “F***, why change anything now?” I just wanted to act like the class clown. And so I did. They were so pissed by that. Brittany was so pissed. She literally had a look of hate in her eyes looking at me wearing that. And I was just like, “Puh-lease.” I wish I had a top hat to wear with it.
What do you make of your elimination? Instead of a proper ceremony he took you aside, and tried to get you to talk seriously and you refused. The whole thing seemed kind of weird.
Yeah, I feel like I honestly could’ve played that either way. If I would’ve jumped on top of him and started making out with him, I could’ve stayed. But you know, right before it went down, I just had an argument with Rubi. I was just kind of mentally exhausted. I’m not confrontational. I don’t like people fighting, I don’t like yelling. I’ll joke around but nothing I do is ever really malicious. But by the time I got up there to the rooftop with Chad, I kind of just borderline wanted to kill myself. I was just over it. I could’ve stayed there the rest of the night and went to dinner with Chad’s mom and ended it with a long, drawn-out elimination. I could’ve probably done a cannonball off the f***ing dock and you know, then moonwalked out of there. But I just felt like, “I’ll just leave now, bye.” And he was like “OK, bye.” I actually was singing and dancing to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies” but they didn’t show it. I did a full-on routine.
It’s a shame we didin’t get to see that. Have you been bit by the entertainment bug as a result of this show? Are you going to continue to pursue TV?
Like I said, this was just an experience. Anything that comes on top of it would be great. I’m interested in any opportunities that come my way. But I think with the reality thing, you burn out really fast. You have like two seconds. I’m on my one and a half second, so we’ll see what happens.
That’s a great way to look at it.
I’m very literal. I’m a realist. So we’ll see what the chances are of anything else coming up, but I won’t turn anything down.

Hard to believe that another month as flown by, but here we are, it’s September 1! We really hope that you enjoyed spending the month with John Legend and The Roots by way of VH1 Posted as much as we did. But saying goodbye to John, ?uestlove and the rest of the gang feels a little less bittersweet knowing that Travie McCoy is on-board for the entire month of September!
Travie, of course, has been spending the summer enjoying the fruits of solo success. His first single, “Billionaire,” was a monster smash and a staple of our weekly VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown for the better part of the last few months. And now, courtesy of Posted, you’ll get to spend the next 30 days or so following his every move.
As we have done with John Legend and The Roots, Sara Bareilles and Adam Lambert in the past, we’d like to take this opportunity to invite you to ask Travie ANYTHING that’s on your mind. Just pose a question to Travie in the comment section below and we’ll route them his way. Then, later this month, he — possibly in conjuction with his dog, Sitch! — will pick a few to personally respond to.
We hope you dig both the video and this little photo gallery of pics that Travie has taken on the road this summer. Enjoy!
George Clooney Among The Stars Joining The Stand Up To Cancer Lineup
Sep 1st, 2010
The ever-involved George Clooney is among the stars who’ll appear on the fund-raising Stand Up to Cancer event, airing on VH1 (among channels) on Friday, September 10 at 8/7c. Full details of the expanding lineup are in the press release below:
The extraordinary lineup of actors, musicians, athletes and journalists participating in the Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) prime-time roadblock television fund-raising event (September 10, 2010, at 8PM EST & PST / 7PM CT) continues to grow. The following supporters have now joined the broadcast: Elizabeth Banks, Kathy Bates, Sir Richard Branson, Michael Chiklis, George Clooney, Baron Davis, Emily Deschanel, Bill Hader, Dorothy Hamill, Anne Heche, Cheryl Hines, Randy Jackson, George Karl, Dr. Jon Lapook, Rob Lowe, Jane Lynch, Marlee Matlin, Shareen Mitchell, Olivia Munn, Lisa Niemi, Kelly Osbourne, Gwyneth Paltrow, Matt Passmore, Will Smith, Sam Trammell, Denzel Washington, Aaron Yoo and Renée Zellweger.
Musical guests scheduled to perform include: Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Neil Diamond, The Edge, Delta Goodrem, Herbie Hancock, Kris Kristofferson, Lady Antebellum, Leona Lewis, Orianthi and Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson of Heart. These artists join previously announced performers including Natasha Bedingfield, Martina McBride, Aaron Neville, Dave Stewart and Stevie Wonder.
The Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C) telecast will raise funds that will accelerate innovative cancer research. The live, one-hour fundraising event will be simulcast commercial-free on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Current TV, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1 and hosted by network news anchors Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams. The broadcast will air in 195 countries, as well as on the Armed Forces Network.
“Plain and simple, cancer takes too much from us,” said Laura Ziskin, SU2C co-founder and executive producer of the September 10th broadcast, who is a cancer survivor. “Loved ones lost to it, pain and suffering endured by those in treatment, even the recent report that cancer has the most devastating economic impact of any cause of death…this disease exacts a very high price. We want people all over the country to rise up and say, ‘ENOUGH!’”
“Tune in on Sept. 10th to see your favorite stars, who’ll ask, ‘Will you stand up with us?’ Person by person, saying ‘yes’ moves us toward a goal completely within our grasp: a world without cancer. A donation of any size brings scientists one step closer to a cure,” Ziskin said.
Cat Deeley of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance will host the pre-show promotion to kick off the evening as the celebrity phone bank opens at 7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST. A 30-minute online “after hours” extended play featuring jams with musical guests Fitz and the Tantrums, Orianthi, Natasha Bedingfield and Heart will conclude the night’s events. The pre-show promotion and extended play will be featured on numerous online portals and destination sites (which will all also stream the one-hour special online) including: ABC, ABC News, AOL, Bing, CBS, CBS News, Crackle, Discovery Health, E! Online, FOX, G4, Hulu, Livestream, MLB Network, MSN, mun2, NBC, Style Network, TV Guide, TV One, Ustream, VEVO, VH1, Wonderwall.MSN.com, omg.yahoo.com and YouTube.
Previously announced participants in the September 10th special include: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Tatyana Ali, Dave Annable, Christina Applegate, Lance Armstrong, David Boreanaz, Abigail Breslin, Cindy Crawford, Fran Drescher, Elizabeth Edwards, Donald Faison, Sally Field, Derek Fisher, Michael C. Hall, Alyson Hannigan, Tony Hawk, Jon Heder, Marg Helgenberger, Terrence Howard, Ken Jeong, Rashida Jones, Minka Kelly, Laura Linney, Zachary Levi, Ray Liotta, Seth MacFarlane, Mandy Moore, Apolo Anton Ohno, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Jim Parsons, Aubrey Plaza, Dr. Ana Maria Polo, Yarel Ramos, Naya Rivera, Robin Roberts, Seth Rogen, The Simpsons, Eric Stonestreet, Marcia Strassman, Alison Sweeney, Maura Tierney, Gabrielle Union, Sofia Vassilieva, Sofia Vergara, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Reese Witherspoon and Ethan Zohn.
Also appearing on the September 10th special as an inspiration to those currently in the fight against cancer are Anne Feeley and Pearce Quesenberry. A brain cancer survivor, Anne Feeley, at age 55, recently cycled from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., to generate awareness about and funds for the fight against the disease. Pearce Quesenberry is a 13-year-old who was featured in the 2008 Stand Up To Cancer broadcast as she was battling brain cancer. Pearce is now cancer-free, and will participate in this year’s broadcast as a survivor.
The broadcast is dedicated to the 12 million U.S. cancer survivors, illustrating how groundbreaking research can change the tide in the fight against the disease. Updates will be provided on the work of the five Stand Up To Cancer Dream Teams, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent, will report on other new medical developments.
SU2C’s star-studded television special builds continuing public support and donations for cutting-edge cancer research that translates at a rapid pace from the laboratory to treatments and technologies benefiting patients. One-hundred percent of all donations received from the public will go directly to cancer research. Viewers will have the ability to donate via a dedicated phone line, the web, or through text.
The 2008 telecast helped raise over $100 million. To date, five multi-disciplinary “Dream Teams” of researchers from more than 50 institutions, as well as 13 young innovative scientists who are undertaking high-risk yet potentially high-reward projects have received SU2C funding. SU2C brings together these scientists from different disciplines across various institutions to work collaboratively, rather than competitively, at a critical time in the field of cancer research.
The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), which consists of more than 32,000 scientists engaged in the fight against cancer, is Stand Up To Cancer’s sole scientific partner. The AACR, the oldest and largest scientific organization in the world focusing on every aspect of high-quality, innovative cancer research from the bench to the bedside, is responsible for administering and managing the grants, and providing scientific oversight in conjunction with the SU2C Scientific Advisory Committee, led by Nobel Laureate Phillip A. Sharp, Ph.D., institute professor at the David H. Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Money Hungry Recap - Episode 5 - Cookie Push
Aug 31st, 2010
In this episode Cookie Monster gets a modern update…
…with sexy results!
We begin with a pep talk from Joe, which is slightly ominous given its source. He tells Grading Curves not to fret about their dwindling alliance because “the bottom line is, yous are here.” Then he whacks Missy and Tricia on the butt with his gondola paddle and says, “Now yous get outta here!”
We’re given a recap of who’s allied with whom and a reminder that Susan Atkins is nowhere to be found among them (RIP!)…
Marliu isn’t so worried about the unbalanced numbers, since her alliance (especially her team, Chicago Deep Dish) has been working out everyday. Meanwhile, Phillip’s philosophy goes something like, “I don’t have to work out, so I’m gonna live it up.” This involves lounging in a pool.
But to be fair, it does seem that he’s putting some effort and strain into his lounging. He’s basically doing yoga.
Meanwhile, Josh has a crush! A new one!
First we’re treated to vintage footage of Josh’s beloved Jamie singing her “With one look…” song in sepia tones and slow-mo, and then we’re brought to Oz via Stephanie, who Josh says is “just gorgeous” and “not even by fat-house standards.” OK, I’ll say it for her: Uh, thanks, I guess? “I know this makes me sound dorky, but I make it a point to sit by her whenever I can,” Josh tells us in confessional. Dorky maybe, but creepy certainly, since you’re telling us in a stage whisper that feels like it could turn to deafening white noise at any moment.
Josh and Stephanie talk about dry chicken. That, people, is what I call vibing. Melissa, Josh’s teammate with a supposed crush on him, sits down ruining both the vibe and the vibing.
She seems just as unhappy about that as everyone. Josh continues in his frightening confessional whisper: “I’ve never had a problem with girls. I think I’m one of the cutest guys in the house.” Well, pin a rose on your nose. Oh no, wait. Don’t. It might make you less cute. “Women complicate things,” Josh goes on to explain. “I wish this house were full of ugly women.” Regardless what you think of Josh’s eliminated-girl-to-the-next-girl philosophy, it’s nice that a house full of overweight women isn’t dismissed outright and even more, is considered stacked (and I mean stacked) with options. At the very least, that’s something you don’t see on TV everyday.
The big beautiful women and the men who drool over them are shipped to their next challenge location:
No, that’s not the Snooki. She spells her name without the “E,” because it would be too long and thus unpronounceable. Dan is tickled to be hosting here.
He looks like a kid in a cookie store. No one knows what’s going on at first, of course, since what would these shows be without wild speculation just before the contestants are informed what they have to do? “Maybe we’re gonna design our own cookie and not eat it,” says Mark. Ha, that’s too cruel even by VH1 standards. Georgette wonders, “What the crap?” since they haven’t had sugar in weeks. Georgette, it’s not crap — it’s chocolate.
Dan takes them in the back and explains the challenge: each team will be presented a tray of cookies and each member will have the role as either an eater or a holder. When the clock starts, the eater must hold the tray of a dozen cookies, each sitting on 1.25 lb. plates (for a grand total of a 15 lb. tray).
Before that, though, the eater can opt to eat as many or as few cookies on the tray as he or she wants, potentially lightening the load for the holder. The person who holds the tray for the longest period of time wins Big Heavies status for his or her team. Throwing a wrench into the whole thing is the fact that there will be no house vote this week — the team with the lowest percentage of weight lost gets thrown off, no questions asked.
On hearing the challenge instructions, Jackie says, “I was thinking, “Oh s*** we have to eat cookies!” She sounds dismayed. Her partner Kaitlin jumps in with, “And I’m thinking, “Oh s***! We’re eating cookies!” She sounds jubilant. It is Jackie, however, who turns out to be the Slenderellas’ eater…
…which just underscores the teasing aspect of this challenge. It wouldn’t be VH1 if it weren’t at least sprinkled with sadism.
Anyway, the Slenderellas are among the few who take those tempting, immediately helpful/potentially hurtful bites…
Po houses all 12, though, which makes Dave “proud.” “There’s no way I could eat 12 cookies!” he adds with what sounds like admiration.
Because, after all, a champion eater is still a champion.
Anyway, the game begins.
And it, uh, pretty much stays right there.
Soon, Georgette becomes cross at Tammy for not eating any cookies. Her exact words are, “I want to stab her right now!” It’s hard to tell if it’s the competition or the cookie-craving that’s doing the talking. Same thing. She throws her tray, making Double Chocolate the first team that’s out. Grading Curves, Chicago Deep Dish, Flabulous…
…and the Slenderellas soon follow.
Some more time passes (you’d be amazed at how it doesn’t fly when you’re watching people holding things while standing in place!)…
…and some heckling between Joe and Josh breaks out, with Joe encouraging Josh to drop the tray. Josh is resistant but Joe’s call is dead-on…
…his struggle becomes more evident, and just when someone calls out, “Just think, you’re gonna get a kiss from Mo after this” (in encouragement?), Josh drops his tray. Regulators and Mission Slimpossible are the only teams left standing.
At this point, Po feels a rumble in his stomach and retires outside to vomit up the dozen of cookies he ate.
We later find out that the cookies he consumed amounted to 3,600 calories. The fact that he puked most of them up really worked out for his team! I’m not advocating anything (just say no to eating disorders, kids!), but at least his vomit goes toward the Regulators’ cause. Vomit that means something is better than the normal, frivolous variety.
Even more time passes…
…and finally Joe’s arms give out and Regulators emerge victorious. Joe seems particularly broken up about this.
Mark says maybe if he was 350 lbs, he could have eaten 12 cookies. “They’re twice the size of us so they eat twice the amount of cookies I was able to eat,” he adds. Is he really trying to say that he weighs 175 lbs.?
At home, the conversation turns from cookies to nookie, as Po and Dave attempt to give Josh tips on wooing women. I thought he always did fine with the ladies because he’s so cute? With that kind of confidence, he should seriously have no problem. But in that case, we wouldn’t get to see Po and Dave in such a playful situation. Or maybe we would anyway eventually. I don’t know.
Among the advice Dave gives Josh is, “All girls like to be picked up off their feet because they like to feel small.” Something tells me that Dave dates a lot of big beautiful women. Something also tells me that his back goes out a lot. Dave also suggests touching Stephanie to pass his energy to her. And not, I guess, to suggest that he’d like to touch her elsewhere with something else. One bit of advice that Dave does not give Josh is, “Sometimes you have to show a little skin. This reminds girls of being naked, and then they think of sex.” I guess we won’t get to see Josh in a spaghetti-strap tank top anytime soon, then.
Everyone gets a note that their next workout will be on the beach.
Many of them enjoy this.
Others do not.
Phillip frets about getting sand in his fat rolls. This show is cultural in that it’s continually introducing body issues I never had even considered. Body issues are practically culture defined. We’re reminded a few times about the stress of there being no vote this week. This only increases the importance of the immunity the Regulators can grant as a result of them winning Big Heavies.
Before we get to an examination of the aforementioned importance, we focus back on Josh’s love…thing. Instead of touching Stephanie like a creep or picking her up like a weirdo, he opts for flowers. However, he’s afraid that doing so will cause a rift in his team. He asks Melissa if she’d be mad if he sent another girl flowers and her terse response is, “Find out.” Ha, Melissa’s no-nonsense approach to the matter is extremely attractive. Interesting that Josh does not find it to be so. Regardless, Melissa has shamed him.
“I’m not jealous that it’s not me, but if he sends flowers to her, there will be a war,” explains Melissa in the confessional. Her words are not so believable, but then again, she could have pollen allergies. “We’re here to win, we’re here to lose weight, we’re not here to date!” she adds. Tell that to the producers! And if Melissa ends up making friends, she’s going to seem like such a hypocrite.
The Regulators call a meeting to discuss the issue of immunity as it applies to this week’s elimination. Everyone kind of tiptoes around how safe they feel in the competition versus their desire to stay, whereas Phillip keeps it blunt (his words) and says he wants immunity.
Phillip couldn’t be more blunt if we were smoking an actual blunt. His name is no mere coincidence.
The next day, the begging begins. Phillip gives a stern plea by way of a good morning, while Josh throws Melissa’s eating and slacking under the bus.
Meanwhile, we see Chicago Deep Dish working their asses off, which isn’t at all foreshadowing (yes it is).
Then, the doorbell.
Josh opens it to find the flowers that he talked about ordering have now been made a reality. And just when it looks like No Excuses are about to embark on a War of the Tulips (I wonder if the Money Hungry house has a chandelier?)…
…it turns out that the flowers are for Melissa. Aw! It’s so sweet! She’s really so happy!
Josh isn’t switching gears entirely — he explains that he’s trying to “explore one option without rocking the boat with my partner.” Or without rocking the van, too. Come a-knockin’, and behold their platonic love! It only complicates matters that while Josh is in the process of his floral goodwill gesture, Stephanie shouts, “I want someone to give me flowers, too!” You know that kills him a little. Every tulip has its torn, I guess.
More begging takes place. Joe approaches Dave, I suppose hoping that third time will be a charm, since the two episodes before this have featured Dave ignoring whatever deal or suggestions Mission Slimpossible has presented. And, like, being yell-y about it.
You’ll be shocked to find out that Joe thinks Slimpossible should be granted immunity. He frames his argument with, “If we keep getting voted in, I think we’re gonna start taking down a lot of people in your alliance.” That’s a bridge to cross when they come to it, if ever there were.
Dave doesn’t listen this time, either. The show kind of stretches out the immunity process (to make up for the lack of suspense due to the suspended voting?): instead of just having Po and Dave reveal who gets immunity while the group is all together in the living room, Dan has them write it down.
It turns out…
…they chose no one. Today’s secret word is, “Fuuuuuuuu…” Dave and Po explain that this is to show everyone that they need to stay on point. Obviously, everyone will be sure to heed the advice of the two most recent people that they collectively resent.
Weigh-ins!
Regulators
No Excuses
Slenderellas
Grading Curves
Double Chocolate
Mission Slimpossible
Flabulous
Flabulous look poised to go home, but then, the hardest working women on reality TV this week, Chicago Deep Dish, are weighed and…
…all that work for naught. Well, not naught, but a measly 2 lbs. They’re going home. Bridget says this is “messed up.”
“We worked hard to be here,” she explains. “I have two jobs. This is my savings. I don’t own a car. This is my money I lost myself, you know?” Well, that’s depressing. But two things help uplift this tragic end:
…Marliu’s helpful words of consolation and…
…a renewed hope via a shared confessional between Josh and Stephanie. Their relationship is literally budding.

The Celebreality Interview - Tiphani
Aug 31st, 2010
Below, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch’s Tiphani, talks about being portrayed as quiet, her romantic connection with Chad and the allegations that he’s just not into black women…
How was the show for you?
Overall, I think it was a great experience, something that doesn’t happen to a lot of people so I am thankful for the experience that I got. Meeting new people, all the girls, and Chad in production, so overall I think it was a great experience. It was kind of crazy and stressful at times, but overall it was really good.
What did you think of your portrayal?
I thought it was OK, but I think it could have been a little better because they show me a lot a times when I was really quiet and kind of to myself. Toward the end they showed more of my funny side and silly side, but I feel like I was funny and silly throughout the whole thing – that’s just my personality.
Even his brother called you quiet.
On that last episode, the girls were all fighting and I was kind of sitting back because I felt like it wasn’t my argument. All his guys are sitting right here so what would I look like arguing with a bunch of girls? Firs impressions are everything so I kind of just wanted to like not be involved in that.
Sometimes quiet is a nice alternative to screaming.
Exactly. I mean, they were doing enough screaming for all four of us.
I actually thought it was interesting that you weren’t involved in that conversation. What did you make of the whole Tara debate?
I was kind of on the fence with it. I understood Rubi and Brittany were really upset because they felt like Tara didn’t really want to be there. After getting to know Tara, I saw that she was really sarcastic and that’s just her personality. She would say things that people could misinterpret and take the wrong way, which a lot of girls did. I’m sarcastic too. But I wasn’t going to jump into that argument because I’m not worried about Tara. I feel like Brittany and Rubi were so consumed over Tara and so worried about Tara. My focus was Chad and I could care less if Tara really wanted to be there. Tara is Tara, I’m me, so I figured, “I’m gonna focus on me and I’m gonna focus on trying to build something with Chad that’s why I’m here. I’m not here to try and get Tara kicked off the show.” I knew Chad would see through her anyway — he is not a stupid guy.
Why do you think everyone else was so preoccupied with the matter? Are you just more focused than them?
That’s exactly what I was going to say. Also, I do think I was a little bit more mature. I think I made that comment um while we were in Miami. I was like, “I’m the youngest one here but I’m more mature than all you guys.” I just always felt like I was more mature then the rest of the girls ’cause they are always yelling at each other and going back and forth with each other, and I would just be sitting there like, “This is so pointless to me.”
And what did you think about your elimination overall?
I knew I was going home — I was up against Rubi. Rubi was his No. 1 from Day 1 and I knew I was going home. I knew anyone that went up against Rubi was gonna go home. I think I took it gracefully. I didn’t cuss him out. I didn’t yell and scream like a banshee. I didn’t jump off a pier. I think that I took it pretty well.
You seemed legitimately upset — you said that you were hurt.
I was upset. I get that Rubi’s really pretty. I can see that; anybody can see that. She’s Hispanic and she speaks in Spanish — I get it. But I think all around, I was a better fit for him as a whole package then Rubi was. I was hoping that he wouldn’t go with lust. I was hoping Russell the Love Muscle wouldn’t be making the decision, but I guess he did.
He said it was his heart though.
He can say that, but I honestly don’t believe that because of things that Rubi has told me and things that Britney’s told me. I was kind of glad that I left when I did because I was starting to get really stressed out. We were on edge like all the time. I did want to win, but still…
You mentioned Rubi being Hispanic. Do you think race played a part in Chad’s decision?
I know that he thinks that he is Mexican, which he’s clearly not Mexican. [Laughs] I feel like there is something deeply rooted within Chad that makes him want to be something that he is not. I kind of touched on that a little bit when during the conversation between Brittany, Chad and I on our date. I was a pysch major in school, and I kind of have that other sense or whatever. I can tell that there is something within him to make him want to be something else. Clearly something happened to him in the past that’s kind of deep. Of course I look at it a lot differently then most people do. Everybody is like, “Well he doesn’t like black women,” and this and that and other stuff. On the other hand, I don’t know if it’s just that. I think it’s something really deeply rooted within Chad.
Did you feel like you had chemistry with him? I know he said that you transitioned beyond the friendship level, but you seemed more into it than he did when you were in bed together at the Cincinnatian.
Honestly, he was so super tired. He had been on dates with three girls and it was 3 o’clock in the morning by the time we got to his room. He actually was even nodding off a little bit and that’s when we were like, “OK, we have to wrap this up.” He was always falling asleep: in planes and cars and stuff. I think that’s what it was, because the very next day at eliminations he was grabbing on me and pulling me and kissing on me in front of all the other girls.
Was Chad’s mom as intimidating as she seemed?
No, she was actually really sweet. Of course I knew who she was when she first came in the room. I don’t understand how Rubi didn’t. They look so alike. She was really cool. She was super sweet, very polite and intelligent. She wasn’t as spitfire as they made her seem on the show. I answered a lot of her questions, too. I was upset that they made me look immature and like I couldn’t handle a conversation with Chad’s mom. Like I said on Twitter, I went to a college prep school K-12, I was in the University of Houston’s honors college – do you mean to tell me that I can’t hold a conversation with Ochocinco’s mom, seriously? Come on now.
Any thoughts on throwing Jasmine under the bus?
That’s how it looked. I didn’t want to do it, but my hands were tied and I was kind of put in an awkward situation. A lot of people were so mad at me on Twitter, cussing me out on behalf of Jasmine. I had to call her and explain the situation to her, and she’s cool now. Then she was really mad at me.
Do you regret it?
I wish I wouldn’t have done it that way. I wish I’d say it in front of her to Chad. I’m not the kind of person who goes behind other people’s backs.
Any other regrets?
Not so much. I hate how some of the stuff was manipulated and edited, but I don’t have any regrets about the way I acted. I think I was pretty reserved and I represented African American women well. I wasn’t rude and obnoxious and loud and ghetto, like people typically say black women are, quote unquote. I think I did a good job.
Is there a story behind the unique spelling of your name?
It was “Tiffany,” but I changed it when I got into college. I just wanted to be different. I knew a lot of people whose names were Tiffany, all spelled that way and it was like, “I hate this.” When I was getting into the industry, I knew I had to change it up. My name came from my mom, who used to live in New York. She was walking on Fifth Ave., and passed the Tiffany & Co., and she really wanted something from the store, but at the time she was pregnant with me and she couldn’t afford it. She said she wanted a Tiffany of her own, so that’s what she named me.

Scream Queens Recap - Episode 5 - The Good, The Bad, And The Bloody
Aug 31st, 2010
Wait, does this mean she was buried in Ugg boots and a hoodie? I question this zombie’s believability.
We begin this week’s Scream Queens with the ladies returning from elimination. Gabby returns to the house after another close call, but she’s not particular happy about her return. Really — can she be? She’s been on the chopping block far too many times. She just keeps coming back from the dead week after week.
Coincidentally today’s skills challenge has the ladies pretending to be zombies. Jaime tells the girls that it’ll be about something unique to horror — camp. Jessica’s reaction sums up my feelings too:
… because camp is a hard thing to master. It requires just the right amount of self-awareness and seriousness. In fact, I predict that everything leading up to this episode will prove campier than anything in this camp episode.
For their challenge the girls will need to bust out of a grave, get shot, and fall to the ground. Jaime brings out this guy…
…to explain why they should be careful around the explosives. “They explode on your boobs,” seems warning enough.
Jaime tells them to play it scary or play it silly, just make a choice. The best actress for this skills challenge will only win “praise” because there are no more guaranteed callbacks. Jaime’s icy, minimal praise seems hardly worth it, but the actresses throw themselves into the challenge.
Jessica goes first and plays her character pretty straight.
Sarah says she needs to make bold choices to get the judges to notice her, so her character is a zombie rocker.
It is too bold for Jaime.
“I know it’s camp week. But I know that the funniest moments in camp are serious. So I’m not going to try to be silly,” Tai says before her scene. She just gets it:
Gabby frets over not hitting her mark so much, that she does nothing except hit her mark:
Tai wins the challenge, because she was, as Jaime said, the only zombie that was believably “brain hungry.” “Callback or no callback, I felt awesome,” she interviews. Indeed I believe that Tai always, always feels awesome.
Back at the house Sarah has an emotional breakdown because she misses her young daughter, who is her support system. Surprisingly (if you saw her fight with Gabby last week), Tai is the kindest to her. “My daughter is the one person who accepts me with all of my flaws,” Sarah says between tears. It sounds she doesn’t know very many nice people.
Homatown!
At the start of class, John Homa tells the ladies that camp involves being funny, but that being funny is hard. Also, you know who doesn’t seem like a very funny guy?
So Homa brings in a guest comedy teacher from the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater in L.A. They’ll do various monster-based improv scenes in pairs. The basic premise? A world in which monsters are regular people.
Christine and Tai are up first. For their scene, Tai will play a meter maid giving Frankenstein — Christine — a ticket.
Tai’s main complaint? Christine keeps bumping into her. “Even if you’re Frankenstein you’re supposed to be a normal person…” she interviews. It’s hilarious that the thing she’s upset about is the logic of the scene. Nothing’s funnier than a logical series of totally normal events, right?
Sierra plays a mummy getting fitted for a wedding dress by Jessica. Mummies can’t get married (illegal). THIS SCENE ISN’T LOGICAL.
Actually, even within the context of the scene, this mummy doesn’t make much sense. There are laughs when they switch roles, which Jessica’s happy about, though Sierra really pulled out the scene’s funniest line.
The next is Gabby as a werewolf, and Sarah as a worker at a taco stand:
It doesn’t work, mostly because Gabby keeps cracking up, which Homa hates. I don’t know, it worked for Dom DeLuise. They switch roles, and Sarah once again makes confusing choices for her werewolf character.
They get their script for the Director’s Cut, and it’s a “western vampire thriller.” One good indication of camp — two genres full of stereotypes, just mashed together haphazardly. You know, like a sci-fi werewolf noir, or a vampire buddy road movie (Interview With A Vampire). The ladies gush warmly over the chance to all work together in one scene.
Tai decides that Christine should know that she’d be a great actress if she stopped wasting time taking care of Gabby. She also decides to tell Christine to her face.
It’s to Gabby’s face as well:
Goodwill erased. Moving on.
Their scene, which will work as an extended movie trailer, features two outlaw vampire ladies verses the four others. Sarah and Christine play the outlaws. They’re supposed to be tough, but their first take seems frightened. And really, what could outlaw vampire ladies be scared of?
A few takes later, and Christine still looks more scared than anything.
Sierra’s playing a nerd (though I believe back then they were called “spinsters” or “umarriageable”). As if the archetypes weren’t piled high enough for you, that makes her a Western vampire nerd. Fortunately she loves her character. Unfortunately it’s not quite the character Tim the character he wants.
Technical details threaten Gabby’s performance again, but she pulls through on the second take.
Next Gabby has to dunk Sarah’s head in a trough. Sarah gets stuck on a technical detail of her own, namely: trying to breathe underwater. Namely, she shouldn’t do that.
Sarah’s anxiety gets to her, and that, combined with the water and the cold, kills her performance.
Jessica’s performance isn’t worth talking about. Only because, as you might have guessed, she nails it quickly.
Tai also nails her scene on the second take. It’s become clear that Jessica and Tai are the actresses to beat.
The List appears, and without wasting any time on drama or suspense, the scroll tells Tai that she’s this week’s Leading Lady. Christine, Sarah, Gabby, and Sierra are all on the list to appear before the judges. Based on this week’s challenges, it seems like it’s a race for the bottom.
Inside the ballroom the ladies learn that they are all on the chopping block. Kind of foreboding, that the judges needed so much time to critique the actresses that they didn’t have time to give Tai a proper congratulations.
They each get their critique.
Christine admits to playing it safe. “I feel like I’m spending too much time making friends,” Christine says. I can’t decide if it’s safe or incredibly risky to blame Gabby, who is standing right behind her, for her acting difficulties. Either way, I don’t think Christine will have to worry about making friends any longer.
Sarah’s not progressing quickly enough for the judges, and Homa worries that she’s “tapped out” and has reached the limits of her range. Gabby is chastised for her disastrous skills test. Sierra needs more “depth” to her characters, because they’re all over-the-top and one-note for the judges. Truth: her nerd vampire was all nerd.
Sarah gets the axe. She is so gracious and sweet when she says goodbye to the judges that I had to rewind to make sure she hadn’t volunteered to go home.
“I’m sad that I’m leaving,” she interviews. “If I was being 100 percent honest, I didn’t think I could take one more day without [my daughter].” Noted: having friends isn’t nearly as good as having family.

The Celebreality Interview - Allison
Aug 30th, 2010
As she had been all season, L.A. actress Allison Kyler was outspoken about her rather early elimination from Scream Queens last week. Part of it was because she had so much going for her coming in: a resume of acting gigs, plenty of dancing and choreography experience. And her early challenges showed she could take the advice John Homa and Tim Sullivan gave her to produce compelling, good-looking scenes. But her inability to control her eyes — both on and off-camera — got her axed far earlier than expected.
Below, Allison explains how a handicap turned her director’s cut into a “trainwreck.” But clearly she’s not a complainer. Allison is just as tough on herself as she was on the other actresses. She’s got an especially dry sense of humor, which didn’t always translate on camera. “Hopefully I don’t sound like an even bigger bitch off of this [interview],” she says. “I feel like I just say what I’m thinking and I feel like some people just take it the wrong way. Everybody needs to lighten up!”
So what have you been up to since the show?
I’ve been working. Same old, same old. I went to Madrid and I shot a commercial with Shakira for the European car company Fiat. A horror movie I was in called Maneater, starring Dean Cain, just got distribution through Lionsgate. And then I got a co-star on the ABC Family show Greek.
Congratulations on all the new work. You talked about your dance experience on the show, and, you’ve done so much in dance, you’re a singer, you’re a choreographer…I’m surprised you wanted to be in horror films.
I’ve always wanted to be an actress and that was always my main priority. But I just worked so much as a dancer that it kind of took over my life, you know? And it pays well, so it was paying all the bills. My main goal in life is not to be a backup dancer. What I really want to do in life is I want to be a singer and I want to be an actress. That’s been my main goal. So it’s just been hard making the transition out of dance into acting, especially when you have such a huge resume in dance. People automatically just think of you as of a dancer.
But you showed that side of you a lot on Scream Queens.
That’s why I kind of excelled in that point when Tim would give me a direction, I just changed it and I never was overwhelmed with all the technical aspects of being on set, because I’d done that a lot.
Speaking of being experienced, you seemed angry that some of the other actresses lacked experience, yet they were winning challenges.
There were moments on the show, when I was watching it, that I felt bad because a lot of it came off to some people as being bitchy. But it really wasn’t. I feel like a lot of the times I’m just saying what most people are thinking, you know? And I just happen to say it. I hope that everybody has a great career. So it’s not like I’m like, “I hate her.” I want everybody to work. I think I just say what everybody is thinking.
I did notice that when Gabby and Tai had their fight, you stayed neutral.
I hated high school. I hate girl-on-girl drama. I hate that crap. It’s so dumb to me. So when they’re fighting, I was just like, “Oh my God, who f***ing cares?” I don’t pick fights. So that’s what everybody said: “Oh, Allison’s a bitch,” or, “She starts stuff.” But everybody knows that I never got in an argument with any of the girls. I never had any issues with any of the girls.
You had some issues with some of the girls when you did the interviews! You seemed especially annoyed with Gabby and Sierra.
I feel so bad about everything I said about Sierra. She’s so nice. Sierra, Roseanna, Jessica and I went and did Comic-Con, which was amazing because we got to go and do the press and we got to go to The Expendables party and do the red carpet for VH1. We got to do a lot of great stuff and Sierra’s so sweet. And right after the show ended and everything, I hung out with Gabby a lot. So Gabby and I, we got to be friends.
You said what was on your mind, but you didn’t like it when Jaime criticized you.
[Laughs] That was like an “if looks could kill” look. That was really bad. When I saw that I was like, “Oh, damn, Allison, calm down.” No, I love criticism. I really do. I mean, that’s the only way you’re going to get better in anything. But I think it’s just that moment. The stress level of the show, and it had been the third week and I felt like I wasn’t getting noticed because I hadn’t been called down for Leading Lady yet and I was getting frustrated. I thought that I had that one in the bag, that I definitely was going to win…and then I didn’t. In that moment I was f***ing pissed, you know? Obviously I shouldn’t have made that face. I was horrible. I take that one back a hundred and ten percent. I know I was wrong for that one.
How about working with Tim and John Homa? Homa was so perceptive about what would make you cry.
Well, and I think that’s another thing that kind of bothered me, when people are like, “Oh, Allison’s had a tough-ass and this or that or whatever.” My thing is, I just don’t dwell on the past. I didn’t have it easy growing up, I did not have it easy by any means. I probably had it a lot harder than most of the girls in the house, and all of them are crying over it. You just get over it and move on. He went somewhere else with me, because I’m not going to cry over what cards you’ve been dealt in life. I’m not going to cry over it. I think that John saw that in me. John was really good.
How did he know that picturing your first child would make you cry out of terror?
[Laughs] So like, the baby? It was actually from the week before. You know, that challenge during the acting the class when we had to sit in front of each other saying what we were going to do to the other person? I was sitting in front of Sarah. He said to tell her something that was going to hurt her, so I said I was going to kill her kid. Because Sarah has a kid. I think that’s where it came from. Everyone was like, “Damn Allison.”
So you are no baby hater.
Yeah, I’m fine with babies, I don’t hate babies, I just don’t want a baby. I think there is a big difference. I like my dog. That’s my baby.
Let’s talk about why you were eliminated. What happened in that last director’s cut?
I’m legally blind, so I had to take out my contacts, which makes me practically blind. So I’m doing the scene with cheap-ass snake contacts in my eyes, I can’t see s***. I think I was trying to overcompensate because literally, if I don’t have my contacts in or my glasses in, I can’t see my hand in front of me. I’m not using it as an excuse at all, I’m not. I just don’t think they made that known. Someone actually had to guide me out to the set and bring me up on the stage because I couldn’t see anything.
You were doomed.
It was a f***ing disaster. I don’t know if they show me trying to put in the snake contacts because I was crying my eyes out. I don’t know if they showed that. I couldn’t even watch it because I was so upset. I couldn’t watch myself be a train wreck. I can watch other train wrecks, but myself I was like, “Oh s***, this is horrible.” Balling my eyes out trying to put those stupid snake contacts in, it was a mess.
I loved that your last words were, “A lot of the girls suck worse than I do.”
Well, yeah, because that’s literally what I was thinking. Maybe I wasn’t the best, but I wasn’t the worst. And I still believe it, I still don’t think I should have gone home fourth. And I’ve been here reading the blogs, and people that hated my guts are like, “I hate Allison, but she shouldn’t have gone home. Even though she’s a bitch, she’s a better actress that some of the people in the house.” So, even people who hated me can’t deny that I don’t think I should have gone home fourth!
Your feelings have changed since you got to know the other actresses.
Yeah, I’m rooting for all of them. When I left the house, I had a different story to say, but right now, I hope they all do good, and I hope everybody works afterwards. And I think this is such a good like platform for everybody. So many people watch it, and you actually get into the show, and you actually have real talent.

Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch Recap - Episode 9 - One Thing We Did Not Love About The Show
Aug 30th, 2010
This about sums up our level of disgust.
Guys, Tara is gone. Take a few minutes and let that sink in. It’s OK. I’ll wait.
It’s maybe not so big of a surprise that Tara couldn’t get with the program, as it were, and be serious (whatever that means) and I guess cease to entertain. Her unwillingness to break the wisecracking, un-PC character that she presented from the jump did lead to her loss (if we’re allowed to look at this show as a competition, which I don’t know if we are since it’s supposed to be So. SERIOUS.), but it’s also something of a victory for her: she refused to change for anyone and so she left on her terms. Either she was too committed to her role or too set in her natural ways to stay, but either way, this kind of consistency isn’t so common on reality TV.
Ahem.
That’s not to say that Tiphani was wrong, as strategy is strategy and sometimes you really have to put effort into getting and keeping your man, regardless of the presence of cameras. Brittany, for example, announced, “I put my son on hold,” to come onto this show. That’s devotion that some could certainly argue is misplaced. In contrast, the same sort of issue doesn’t come up about Tara, who in her own jokey and “non-serious” way, was a straight-shooter.
When Chad assembled his friends and family for what soon announced itself as a “wife beater party” (a comment on the clothing — we don’t have a clue regarding these people’s martial statuses)…
…one of the party games they played was Pin the Blame on the Banshee. They were asked which was the “most hated,” a question guaranteed to unleash shrieking and clawing, if ever there were. After a pregnant pause, the girls called out Tara (since, objectively: duh!), who only proved their point…hilariously! Everyone won! “I’m the least liked by you f***ing idiots!” was Tara’s strongest response. It’s-not-me-it’s-you is always a great way of rationalizing a situation, after all. When Brittany called her a joke, Tara snapped back, “Don’t be a d***,” always a funny thing to call a vagina-haver. After Brittany called out Tara’s tuxedo-shirt elimination attire, Tara responded, “You wear booty shorts and a stripper shirt!” Tellingly, Rubi explained, “You’re the least-liked because we don’t understand you…” Isn’t that always the way it is, though? Really, can’t dislike always be boiled down to ignorance and misunderstanding? As wrongheaded as that sentiment may be, points for clarity. Tara’s response, however, was nothing close to being in the name of understanding: “Shut the f*** up!”
Ultimately, Tara explained, “I may be mean but I’m funny and funny always wins.” She’s wrong (witness her dismissal later in the episode), but ultimately so, so right.
By the way, her final conversation with Chad was just as steadfastly Tara as ever. “I thought you were going to get rid of Brittany. She looks like Sean Penn,” she said about last week’s elimination. On the same topic, Chad said, her behavior there really bothered him: “I should’ve got rid of you that night, but it’s like no way in hell I’m letting you go. But it’s still the same Tara, and I’m still not getting what I’m looking for. I feel like it’s been long enough for that serious side come out.” Her response was glib as ever: “Yeah, we’ve been out here for, like, seven minutes, so…” Ha! At that, he dismissed her telling her that this isn’t what she’s looking for. Her response? A chipper, “OK!”
“I’ll pray for you,” she told Chad, not without condescension. Still, in the end she chalked it up like this: “He’s not what I’m looking for, nor am I what he’s looking for.” “Nor.” Very impressive. “I sort of wish him the best,” she continued. “Sort of,” ha! “And I wish Rubi and Brittany herpes, gonorrhea and chlamydia and syphilis.” All treatable conditions, I see: she doesn’t want to inflict permanent pain, just temporary discomfort. That was her objective on this show all along, I guess. Goal attained. Let’s give it up for Tara.
Chad announced to the remaining women (previously referred to by Tara as “a bunch of UFC banshees”), “I eliminated Tara. I had enough of the silly games.” He’s only got the time for non-silly games like football and reality dating shows. Meanwhile, those girls had gone out to eat with Chad’s mom, who walked in unannounced and totally confused Rubi who politely acted like she knew who she was…
When they figured it out, Chad’s mom told them she’d be taking them out to dinner for a little grilling session (note: that’s not to say that they had barbecue). Brittany, however, stayed behind, as she was sick. She was glad to be in a condition that found her throwing up “like violently, seven times,” instead of meeting with Chad’s mom. In fact, everyone seemed dismayed that they had to meet with her. So much for keeping up appearances regarding the woman who, in the tiniest of chances, could be their future mother-in-law!
Maybe they were right to be afraid. Mom asked them things like, “What kind of person are you?” “What is it you like about him?” and “What can you bring to the table?” In Rubi’s case, the table is literal and she brings food and spotlessness: she cooks, cleans and takes care of kids. Hopefully she’s at least artful about it, though. Mom also said accusingly, “You don’t even know him!” She also somewhat strangely criticized Rubi’s dress for being provocative, male-attention grabbing and possibly leading to infidelity.
Is that really how it happens? Can you trace the breakup of some marriages back to cleavage? Is there a boob-erfly effect brought on by anything less than a turtleneck? When dinner was over, Mamacinco told Tiphani and Rubi, “It was enjoyable and good luck.” That’s charitable. Briefing Chad, she said she thinks Tiphani can’t handle Chad’s kids and that while Rubi’s “a little bit older,” her dress style is “floozy-like.” Floozy! You can’t really hold something against someone when it’s said using such a funny word! Mamacinco joins the pantheon of strict, somewhat eccentric moms of reality stars that VH1 loves to host. She’s sitting on a star, looking down and judging you.
In the end, Chad was pained.
See? Pained. Brittany was already advancing, thanks to Tara’s early dismissal, so he had to choose between Tiphani and Rubi. Tiphini’s too young for him, but Rubi’s too naïve for his lifestyle. In the end, he said he was going with his heart and kissed Tiphani goodbye.
“Chad made a huge mistake, so it hurts. It really hurts a lot,” said Tiphani upon leaving. After spending time on reality TV, it’s at least reassuring that she can still feel.

The T.O. Show 2 - Season 2, Episode 9
Aug 29th, 2010
VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip
This week’s episode of The T.O. Show focuses on more change for Terrell Owens. First there’s the shift he’s making from professional athlete to professional something else. He tried out some modeling, and this week he works on his acting career, going on an audition that Monique Jackson and Kita Williams fought hard for. He does a reading for the part of a professional athlete opposite Tatyana Ali, who Terrell remembers from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. She’s also a Harvard graduate and a singer, so it’s surprising that Kita doesn’t set them up, on her everlasting quest to get Terrell into a relationship with a strong black woman.
While Terrell works on his callback audition and acting skills, Mo and Kita work on reconnecting Terrell with his children. We’ve seen him hang out with his two daughters, but he also has a son that he’s never met. Though Mo and Kita debate bringing it up with Terrell, it turns out it’s always been on his mind. He talks about his son with his therapist, and his fears over repeating the same relationship he had with his father.
But both his acting career and his relationships with his children get put on hold when Mo goes into labor. Terrell and Kita show up at the hospital, as does Terrell’s ex-fiance Felisha Terrell. They haven’t seen each other in over a year, but Kita — who stayed friends with Felisha — keeps hoping they’ll get back together, and a hospital room’s as good a place as any to rekindle a relationship.

The Shorter List: Biggest Celebrity Tools
Aug 29th, 2010
There’s no denying that showbiz has more tools than a Home Depot full of Hummer-owners, and last Friday The Short List crew used them to build you a house of hilarity. The experts did a pretty good job as they counted down the Ten Biggest Celebrity Tools, but we feel that they cut their list with a bit too many douche-bags and not enough tools. (Yes, there’s a difference!) So here to put things right once more, The Shorter List brings you a few extra tools who have screwed, banged, nailed, drilled, greased and wrenched their way to infamy. Don’t forget your hard hat.

5. Vince The Sham-Wow Guy
Once upon a time, Vince Shlomi was a man with nothing but a rag, a camcorder, and a dream. A dream that someday…he would have enough money to pay people for sex. After re-branding his rag as the “Sham-Wow” and making the most abrasive commercial of all time, that dream came true. But the dream turned into a nightmare one night in Miami when a hooker he hired bit his tongue. We’re pretty sure that kind of kink costs extra, but Vince apparently wasn’t digging it and a fist-fight ensued. By the looks of the mug shot, the hooker won. No charges were filed against him, but it’s a cautionary tale for anyone who tries to con the world with their crappy products (come on guys, “sham” is right in the name).

4. Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen is kind of like a hammer that has been dipped in pure gold: worth far too much money, and at the end of the day is still just a tool that hits stuff. We’re sure he doesn’t mind our saying so, as his new $1.3 million-an-episode salary has him half-grimacing all the way to the bank. That’s when he’s not busy chasing his wife around with a knife and serving jail sentences so short that he tells his driver to leave the car running.
The Many Moods of Charlie Sheen
Look at that range! If that’s not worth $1.3 million an episode, we don’t know what is.

3. Jimmy Fallon
For years the media has been trying to brainwash us into believing that Jimmy Fallon is funny/popular/cool. But let’s look at the evidence. If he’s that good, why have all of his movies bombed? And can you remember any of the characters he did on Saturday Night Live? OK, there was that lame news anchor character who always laughed at his own jokes. What was his name again? Oh yeah: Jimmy Fallon. Yet the-powers-that-be keep rewarding his public failures with larger and larger gigs, including hosting duties at the Emmys. The fact that he has his own network show while Conan O’Brien does not is proof that there is no logic, justice or god in Hollywood.
Bonus Points:

2. David Blaine
Whether hanging from a box in London or standing on a pole in New York, “illusionist” David Blaine has made a name for himself by performing feats that we all could probably do if we weren’t busy living our lives. The man is able to survive for fantastic periods without food or water, yet he has been hospitalized several times for lack of attention. Perhaps his greatest trick was convincing both Madonna and Fiona Apple to date him. Nothing gets a woman hot like pulling a quarter out of her ear.
More Bonus Points:
David Blaine being given the honorary key to Trump Tool-Town.

1. Michael Lohan
The fact that Michael Lohan was left off of The Short List broadcast makes us wonder if he has incriminating pictures of someone on the staff. It wouldn’t be the first time he’s pulled that, right Kate Major? Seriously, this is the man who taught Lindsay everything she knows! The lessons started early, with Mike spending most of Lindsay’s formative years serving a prison sentence for insider trading. This absence is probably the high point of his parental life.
He’s done it all, from cheating on his wife and getting his mistress pregnant, to assault and DUI charges. He’s even shared a fiance with Co-Ultra-Douche Jon Gosselin, creating a Tool Supernova of epic proportions. So you’d think when Lindsay started making some of the same mistakes, he’d be the first person she could turn to for sympathy and advice, right? Nope. He decided to call his rehab-bound daughter from a bar to “make her jealous.” Michael Lohan, we at the Shorter List salute you. It just so happens that our salute is a middle finger.

Video Premiere: Taylor Swift’s “Mine”
Aug 27th, 2010
VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip
It’s finally here! After showing you a :30 sneak one week ago and taking you behind the scenes yesterday, we’re excited to debut the first music video from Taylor Swift’s latest album, “Mine.” Whereas most of the songs on her last album had a distinctly autobiographical feel, this single shows Taylor extending her storytelling prowess to the third person.
This glossy pop number tells the (not always sunshine-y!) story of how romance changed a “careless man’s careful daughter” into a “rebel”; unlike some of her breezy teenage tales from the past, this song has the narrator singing about fights at 2:30 in the morning and stressing out about “paying the bills.” We’re excited to see Taylor stretching her creative muscles and taking her music in a slightly new direction (lyrically if not sonically), all the while ensuring not to offend her base (as you might expect, the song ends with true love conquering all).
So, what did you think of the song and the video? Be sure and let us know in the comments below! Oh, and when you do, don’t forget to check out the new behind-the-scenes clip of the video shoot that we’ve posted below.

Fantasia Performs “Free Yourself” Live At VH1
Aug 27th, 2010
VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip
Everyone knows that it’s been a difficult couple of weeks for Fantasia. But, as anyone who has ever followed showbiz understands, “The show must go on!” Fantasia, the trouper that she is, popped by our offices here in the heart of Times Square on Monday and performed a few dazzling numbers for us as part of our Live At VH1 series. And, being the good people that we are, we’d love to share them with you!
Today, we’ve got a great performance of the title track from her 2004 debut album, Free Yourself. We’ll have some more cuts for you from this intimate performance here at VH1 next week. Oh, and don’t forget that her new album, Back To Me, came out on Tuesday! Enjoy.
Jennifer Williams Denies Eric Williams Fatherhood Rumors
Aug 26th, 2010
Word on the street (and by “the street,” I mean Twitter and gossip blogs) is that retired baller Eric Williams, husband of Basketball Wives‘ Jennifer and frequent guest on the show, has fathered another woman’s baby. The woman, whose Twitter handle is brandeb, apparently alerted Jennifer of this with a photo-attached tweet (how modern!) that read, “Here is a picture of your husband’s son in Cleveland, Ohio.” Definitely, definitely makes sense to tell something this over Twitter. Who needs talk shows anymore?
Additional tweets from Brande reveal, “The case has been in court for over a year now. I didn’t know he was married,” and “I found out he was married 5 months into my pregnancy. I saw your wedding on you tube.” Is Brande connected or what? When reached by the independent VH1iNFO Twitter account to ask about this matter, Jennifer tweeted the above, saying she doesn’t know who Brande is. That, of course, is Brande’s point…at least, we think that’s her point. We’ll be glued to our computers, watching how this thing plays and tumbles out.

Go Behind The Scenes Of “Mine” With Taylor Swift
Aug 26th, 2010
VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip
Last week, we brought you a :30 sneak peek of Taylor Swift’s new video, “Mine.” And with the official debut of the video right around the corner — remember, it will premiere online tomorrow night, August 27, at 8:30pm! — we thought you’d be excited to see this behind the scenes clip of Taylor discussing what it was like to shoot this video on location in Portland and Kennebunkport, Maine. As one excited onlooker described, “It’s the biggest thing to happen [to Kennebunkport residents] since George Bush.” Well, having seen the whole video ourselves, we can say with a great deal of confidence that Taylor’s new video will certainly end up being more popular than the controversial president!
Also, we added two new pictures to our photo gallery of the “Mine” video shoot. Check them out below.
You’re Cut Off’s Jaqueline Makes Her Foray Into Music
Aug 26th, 2010
Like her esteemed peers It, Flavor of Love’s Hottie/Schatar, Flavor of Love 2’s Krazy and Daisy De La Hoya, You’re Cut Off’s Jaqueline Madden is using reality TV as a springboard to a music career. Her first video, “Can’t Let Go,” is above and it’s almost bizarrely well-produced (love those dissolves) and well-sung. Seriously, you’ll be surprised, given the output of those who have come before her…

Linkin Park Is Bringing Heavy Back With “The Catalyst”
Aug 25th, 2010
VH1 TV Shows | Music Videos | Celebrity Photos | News & Gossip
For better or worse, most of the songs that have topped the pop charts during the Obama presidency have been of the light, fluffy variety (think “I Gotta Feeling,” think “Single Ladies,” think “California Gurls”). However, if you’ve been craving a return to Bush-era heaviness on the radio, look no further than Linkin Park’s new video for “The Catalyst,” the first single off their upcoming A Thousand Suns LP. We showed you a :30 sneak earlier this week, but now we’ve got the whole, mega-intense 4 minute and 42 second clip for you to watch above!
In it, Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda and the rest of the boys in Linkin Park warn that “We’re broken people living under loaded gun” and that “We’re oceans bleeding to the sky” against a backdrop of violent floods, ominous smoke-filled rooms and crumbling cities. So much for “Yes We Can”, right?
So, do you think that it’s high time that nu metal jams like these returned to the top of the charts, or do you prefer your music to be catchy and carefree? Either way, be sure to tune into the VH1 Top 20 Video Countdown this and every weekend to find out what music videos are ruling the roost.

VH1 Storytellers: T.I. - Coming In December
Aug 25th, 2010
The next installment in VH1’s play-and-tell concert series Storytellers will focus on none other than the King of the South T.I. and premiere on air Friday, Dec. 10 at 11/10c. Details on the show, which taped last night in New York, are in the press release below.
T.I, the proclaimed “King of the South,” got personal last night during VH1’s Storytellers taping saying, “Even when I lose faith in myself there is something in me that speaks through and says I am not finished yet” as he hit the stage of New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and kept the capacity crowd on their feet the whole night as he blazed through a set of career hits. This exclusive performance, VH1 Storytellers: T.I. will premiere on Friday, December 10th at 11:00 PM*.
Between songs, T.I. opened up with candid stories about his redemption from the life of a drug dealer to the rap superstar he is today. He also entertained questions from the audience on topics ranging from his time in prison to his future aspirations as a musician and actor.
Fans were treated to never-before-performed-live songs “Still Ain’t Forgave Myself” and the highly personal “I Still Luv You” which he revealed chronicles his pain over the death of his father and the love of his children despite becoming a father at a young age. T.I. explained that this was the right time, right stage and the right crowd to unleash these hit songs in a live performance.
The hour-long VH1 Storytellers episode will also feature T.I. performing a selection of his biggest hits such as “Rubber Band Man,” “Bring Em Out” and “Live Your Life.” For viewers at home, they’ll gain a unique opportunity to hear T.I. share his stories and the inspirations behind each song.
Rodeo On Michael Lohan: “I’m Always Looking Over My Shoulder”
Aug 25th, 2010
The saga of Rock of Love’s Cindy “Rodeo” Steedle versus Michael Lohan continues. Last week, TMZ reported that she had filed a police report alleging that Lindsay’s dad had assaulted her on the set of a reality show they were filming in New York (Rodeo followed this with an interview with Radar in which she revealed that she’d filed a second charge, this time for harassment, against him).
Rodeo gave us detailed account of the time spent on the set of Celebrity House New York (it actually wasn’t a set at all, but in Lohan’s own Southampton home, which she alleges was a garbage-filled mess). The show never had a network attached and was also set to feature the likes of Dex Tucker (Chris Tucker’s brother), pro-wrestler Erik Watts and Lohan’s ex Sonia Stickles. Rodeo says she signed on because the show was supposed to be in service of unspecified charities. Exactly what the proposed format of the show was remains hazy — Rodeo’s manager claims it was “four different elements that were going to be tied into a competition base and whoever raised the most money during those competitions, that money would go to the charities that Michael chose.”
Rodeo says that she was promised $10,000 for her participation and when she confronted Lohan after days of not being paid, that’s when things turned ugly. Below is her account in her words of dealing with Lohan (”He was not a normal person”), a blow-by-blow of their confrontation over money and the alleged continuing harassment that has her living in fear. But don’t worry about her, because as she tells us, “I have the military that backs me…”
On the police report she filed:
[Michael] had hugged me hello, and then his hand dropped to my bottom, which I don’t like. No one should put their hands on me. I don’t care who they are. He did it again, and I am not that type of lady. I just wanted to do my job and raise the most money there. Some of the other girls that were in there were just all over Michael, and I did not want to be in a home like that, when he’s supposed to be a Christian person. I feel like he’s living behind the Bible and being a hypocrite. He thought it was really funny when Sonia was upset about him sucking the life out of another blonde. It was really hurting Sonia, and he didn’t care. I just thought that was very unfair. And you know me, I’m always wanting to do things for the cast, doing for others. I wanted to make a difference, getting back on TV to do something for charity. I wanted to do something positive. You know how I am. That’s what I hope to continue to do, but I’m not wanting to get out there, like he said, just to be in the limelight of Hollywood. No, that’s not me. I just want to raise money, help people and be an inspiration to a lot of people and kids.
We arrived on Sunday, and we interviewed on Tuesday with the production and Wednesday is when I confronted him about not paying and falsifying the charity information. He owes me $10,000. He was supposed to pay a certain percentage up front, before we even walked in. He had said that he had money coming in and was supposed to pay us on Friday, but he never did. He didn’t have any money at all. He left Thursday morning, around 3 am after confronting me.
When I confronted him, we were talking. He said, “I’ll pay all the cast members on Friday,” and I told him, “It’s not right to be doing people like this.” He started to get more angry, saying, “I’m gonna pay, I’m gonna pay.” I said, “Lohan, you said you didn’t have the money.” I knew that because another production crew had already left, because they were going to put up a certain amount of money and he was going to have to come up with a certain amount of money, and Lohan didn’t have it. They left on Tuesday night, after the production meeting. As we talked, he came around to my left side and continued to get angry. My manager Jeff was saying, “You say you’re going to pay on this day, that day, what Friday is it going to be?” Michael got more angry and I told him it was unfair. He looked at me and, you know how you grind your teeth when you’re about to hit somebody? He took a deep breath and then he raised his hand, opened it and then was closing it. I said, “Don’t you hit me, it’s the wrong move.” I was nervous and I backed up. He walked around me and then we went downstairs.
I was willing to stay and continue the job, because I had gentlemen around me. I just wanted to stay and raise the most money for people. That’s all I wanted to do: get done with the work and go home.
On Michael Lohan’s general manner:
He was insulting and being so mean, verbally, mentally. He would talk down to all the cast members. He doesn’t care about women. I think he feeds off of what Lindsay is going through. That’s all he talked about. He had magazines of Lindsay everywhere, and that’s all he talked about: Lindsay and wanting to let people know where he was going. This show was just for him to get more notoriety just to have us there. When I went to the restaurant Uncle Jack’s a restaurant and the owner wanted to take pictures with me, and Michael was not asked, it seemed like it bothered him. It made him mad. That’s how it is. When you treat people the way he does, you’re going to get responses like that.
He was very emotional, up and down. His personality would change like you flipped a switch. One minute his face would be red, the next he’d be OK. He was constantly on the phone, constantly walking the floors as hard as he could. He would just snap. He was not a normal person. He had a bad temper. I think he got off on insulting women.
On the show:
At first it was called Crossing Boarders and it was to raise money for Haiti, we were going to be on a tour bus, but that fell through. That was back in February when I first met him. Then he changed it to Celebrity House, which was supposed to be the same thing. Then he changed it to him showing people how to be a celebrity, which I thought was ridiculous, because I in no way shape or form wanted to be the kind of person that he is. I don’t think any network wanted to pick up the show for him because of what type of person he is.
The man bought $400 of food before we got there. We have about 10 people in [his own home in Southampton]. $400 for that amount of people is not enough food. The house was not clean. When we got there it was nasty. I had to clean the bathroom, but downstairs was trash in his garage. It was horrible. It was a lot of trash – I’m not talking two bags. It was stacked. It smelled horrible.
On what she got from the experience:
When I was seeing things about him supporting Lindsay in the courtroom and when he yelled out, “I love Lindsay,” I thought, maybe he’s really wanting to change. He said he wanted me in there to bring in ratings and I thought, “OK, I’ll do it. Kids love me and I love them. Anything I can do to make the show better, I’ll do it.” I never thought anything like this would happen. I was worried, but I went ahead and did it because you never know. I always try to give people a chance. I regret working for him, but I don’t regret looking in that man’s eyes and learning what Lindsay sees. I feel bad for her and I understand why she’s in the position she is and why she stays away from him. I hope one day I’m able to meet her. I saw her pain and how violent he is and how mean he is and how wishy-washy he is. Most people have never experienced confronting him, and I did. I’m handling charges like I need to handle and I’m going to be positive and move forward. In Southampton I filed harassment charges and also in Atlanta. He’s continued to text, email and call through third parties to get to me. I think that’s uncalled for. He’s threatened to come to Atlanta. There’s an ongoing investigation and we can’t really go into detail on it. I’m always looking over my shoulder because he said he knew people and he knows my address. He’s got a bad criminal record. That makes me scared, too. I know I’m going to be OK through all this because I have the military that backs me. A lot of military people are talking to me on Facebook, they said, “Rodeo, whatever you need…”
Meanwhile, Rodeo would like you to know that she’s up to what she calls more “positive” work, such as hosting for Sick Speed TV. Here she is at last month’s Exotic Rally Car Show in Times Square:
Here’s what Rodeo said about the event:
It was absolutely wonderful and the film crew were filming me, and you know me, I like to do things spontaneously like when I was on VH1. I filming and I saw all these people chanting Rodeo and taking pictures and you know me, that’s how I am. I stopped everybody and I said, “Listen, I can only do this once in a lifetime so count to 1, 2, 3 and say, ‘I love New York!’” Well, they did it. It vibrated the walls of the buildings. It was awesome.
The Glass of Bret Is Half Full: Bret Michaels “50/50″ He Will Marry Long-Term Girlfriend
Aug 24th, 2010
He might not be headed down the aisle in the near future, but for Bret Michaels, marriage might make an honest man out of him yet. As the Rock of Love star made it clear earlier this year, he and long-time girlfriend Kristi Lynn Gibson aren’t planning to pick out matching engagement ring tattoos anytime soon. However just last week Michaels revealed that the chances of the couple making it legal are about “50/50.” Said the singer, “We’ve been talking a lot about getting engaged, and we’ll see what happens. We just want to make sure we’re not doing it for anyone other than ourselves.”
We like those odds! Gibson, the mother of Michael’s’ two ridiculously cute children Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5, has been off and on with the singer for almost 16 years. The couple reunited after Michael’s serious health problems this past spring, and are apparently making it work. “Hopefully we’ll get engaged”, Michaels explained, “But if we don’t, we’ll still love and respect each other.” How sweet is that? Please don’t tell anyone we teared up over Bret Michaels’ relationship status, you guys. Please don’t. At the rate they’re going, the couple will likely be exchanging vows at their grandchildren’s college graduations. But like they say, you can’t hurry love. All we can say is: please, please, please let them televise the wedding. The sight of Bret in his tuxedo, bandanna and formal eyeliner would just be too amazing to miss. [Photo: WENN]

Eminem Channels Marlon Brando For VMA Promo
Sep 3rd, 2010
Rapper remakes scene from 1954 movie 'On the Waterfront' for the shoot. By Mawuse Ziegbe

Sep 3rd, 2010

Genesis of West's memorable performance of 'Love Lockdown' is uncovered on 'VMAs: Revealed' this Saturday.By Mawuse Ziegbe
Kanye West

Check out everything we've got on "Going the Distance."

Chris Pine Rode With His Idols For 'Unstoppable'

The 'Star Trek' captain describes becoming a train operator for the Denzel Washington/ Tony Scott film.By Kara Warner
Chris Pine in "Unstoppable"
Photo: 20th Century Fox

Chris Brown's 'Deuces' Tops R&B/Hip-Hop Charts

'We've got nothing but love for Method Man and Redman,' Violent J tells MTV News.By Kyle Anderson
